The tech decided to continually just barely remove the needle and reinsert it multiple times because the flow was too slow. I could see the hole in the tip of the needle and hear the suction pull air into the chamber. She eventually moved arms, but my one arm bruised and then I got a call from my doctor's office saying some of the samples were clotted and I have to redo my bloodwork. I am terrified of needles(as I informed the tech at the beginning) and by the end of my experience here, I was in a cold sweat and having a severe panic attack. It took me over half an hour to be able to drive myself anywhere, let alone home(out of town).

First of all, I will be writing to the Regulatory Body for Medical Laboratory Technologists in Saskatchewan. This is unacceptable. 1) Have your receptionist and all the techs that work there learn what professionalism means. I was shocked to see the lack of professionalism in the workplace especially during COVID time. The receptionist was slouched over the chair, and decided not to move while i wait front of her - and she continues to ask questions while being slouched over and then eventually correcting her posture. No good morning, or good afternoon, or welcome. While she does that, there was a lab tech leaning over the counter with her phone and texting. Eyes down to the phone and no greeting and just texting away. 2) why is there 4 people working in a small lab during COVID? 3) I was seated for the blood work, and I saw this another tech does exercise with blasting music in the background. Let me repeat it so you guys know I am not exaggerating. The music was "blasting" There is a small kitchen in the back and she was exercising and stretching while blasting the music. Great professionalism in work place! Another tech comes over to collect blood, she does the proper double check with name and DOB. She pokes and blood goes in good, and she decides to do other tasks while taking blood, turning around, talking to me about 'irrelevant' things and now the needle has moved and it is sucking air out or in. "I can hear the empty suction' and I had to point that out to her and she decides to move the need deeper in and side to side till the blood slowly starts to come in. Not fast but slowly. I am left the a bruise now, I am left with pain in my arm that is running down the entire arm. This is malpractice, this is incompetent. Not only will I be going after the individuals involved, I will be talking to my lawyer regarding Life Labs. Hire people who are enthusiastic to work in workplace, hire individuals that are focused and does the job properly. I am expecting an answer not only from the management but Life Lab itself. Otherwise you guys leave me no choice. I have also recorded one star reviews from this site which goes to show this is not a one time issue. and obviously it has not been fixed.

I've never seen such a rude, rude and racist employee. It's the worst experience. That black woman is very racist. She was kind to other white people. When I got it wrong, she was annoyed, yelled loudly, and ordered me several times.

Worst experience ever. Two techs struggled to get blood, one did not listen to my request for a count before being stuck. Was left sitting for fifteen minutes because the second tech didn't tell anyone. Was told wrong information and missed the third draw for a glucose test so now I have to do this all over again because they can't get their act together.

I have been to this location multiple times throughout my life. Today was the last straw. THIS LOCATION IS A HAZARD TO THE COMMUNITY. They DO NOT change their gloves during procedures. I have watched many times the staff touch multiple things and use the same gloves to clean and take blood. I have seen them not change gloves between patients, use the same gloves to grab paperwork, touch multiple surfaces and grab stock from room #3 then come and take my blood with the same gloves. They are also extremely short, rude and judgemental to the patients that come in. I've heard rude remarks from booth #2 as it shows the back work area and you can see and hear everything. I will no longer be supporting this location and do not recommend anyone else to use it as well. As health care professionals they should have proper PPE training and routine health inspections. Anyone who goes there with proper training will notice immediately what is being done wrong.

This lab is better than the South end lab which has always been horrible. Having people lining up outside in winter is appalling and should be stopped. If you are fasting (diabetic);before tests long waits are dangerous. At the Broad Street lab you can get service fairly promptly. I don’t care how tests are done as long as it’s over quickly.

Fast and friendly staff! Upon coming in as a walk-in client I was delighted to see the staff having a friendly conversation with each other. Although some may find this unprofessional I love to see coworkers getting along because it boosts morale. I was greeted quickly by a friendly lady at the front desk. I was sitting in a chair shortly after and a friendly man did my blood work. He demonstrated proper clean technique, got my vein first try, and made conversation. I did bruise after, but contrary to popular belief, this is not always due to the lab technician, some people just bruise easier than others. Thank you LifeLabs!
