★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ONE OF THE WORST APARTMENTS ON EARTH TO LIVE IN! Nothing good to say about this place except its location!! Living 1 year with mice everywhere! I have complained SEVERAL times to the manager and I got NO REPLY!! The only answer I got was that IN MONTREAL YOU FIND MICE EVERYWHERE SO IT IS NORMAL (Which is not for those that are new here!)!!! I was never home alone! hearing their sound all time while they pass in front of me every night and even DAY!! Waking up in the middle of the night with their sound! I think I could have a record on guinness for catching four mice in 2 nights!! I have attached a photo for everyone to see the size of mice I caught!!
Only one elevator works at a time since they are TOO LAZY to fix it for an apartment with 20 floors and more than 200 tenants! People got stock in it several times! fortunately I did not experience it!
My bathroom was clogged for a week that I had to go to Tim Hortons to use the facilities!! After one week they come to fix it but it gets clogged again after a month or so.
The bathroom ceiling was leaking the last four months of my stay in that hell hole! complaining about it would just face me with this comment: We have to start with the bigger problems of the building! your issues are just the minor ones.
I was one of the victims of the disaster of the Dec 2015! When there was no water, electricity for days in the apartment. You can imagine NO ELEVATOR (Thank God I was on the 7th floor), NO BATHROOM nothing!
I went through a lot of trouble in this building. None of them gave me a happy memory! PLEASE!! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! DO NOT EVEN VISIT THIS PLACE! I JUST FELT RESPONSIBLE. I HAD TO WARN EVERYONE! STAY AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Avoid it by all means. Nothing is right or decent in this garbage building. Do not be fooled by the liar manager, the daughter of the owner, she should be in jail for fraud!!
If you make a mistake and come there you will enjoy bed bugs, mice, rats, all type of insects and drunken homeless. Go visit the rental board in case you are stuck with them, they will help you especially that this building has 200+ complaints against them at least!!!!

Elevators are old, but are working lately.
There is an alarm box at the entry that goes off in the weekends, and that is really annoying.
Dep and pizza are both good.
Front door is fragile for a downtown building.
Garages are really dirty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE. Unlike the Alice Cooper song, I don't think you're gonna like it. One star is way too generous for this monstrosity of a building. Don't be seduced by the excellent location and breath-taking view of The Mont-Royal. First of all, the place is crawling with vermin (cockroaches, mice, rats and bedbugs). When I moved in here, the building manager, who is a total snake, assured me that there were no vermin at all. She also said that the building is safe. However, there are always itinerants sleeping in the building (in the hallways and staircase), plus they congregate out in front of the building and beg for money. they are often drunk and violent. Some of my neighbours said that their laundry was stolen from the machines in the building. So what the hell are we paying rent for? The so-called utilities are included, yet we often have no heat. I had to sleep with my winter coat one night, it was freezing. For three days this month, we had nothing, no running water, no electrictity, no heat. That was nearly three weeks ago, and the evil witch of a building manager (who happens to be the owner's daughter), has yet to apologize. She also refuses to reimburse us for lost food unless we have a receipt. She is cheap and callous. My apartment has cockroaches, no matter how much I clean the place. My neighbours have mice. Another neighbour saw a rat in the stairway. Others have bedbugs. There are two elevators, and they are broken nearly every single day. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR. DO NOT EVER MOVE IN HERE. DO NOT BELIEVE THE MANAGER'S LIES, SHE IS A CRAFTY, MANIPULATIVE WENCH. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELL-HOLE KNOWN AS LE CHATELAIN. WARN EVERYONE THAT YOU KNOW. THANK YOU.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The positive reviews written for this place here and elsewhere online are mostly written by the manager herself. All the terrible reviews you read about this place are the truth and that is coming from me, who almost always tries to see the positive side of the story. Unfortunately, the only good thing about this place is its location. The rent is not even cheaper compared to similar apartments in the neighbourhood. The mice and cockroaches have infested the building for a long time. The 7th floor, which was my floor, is filled with them. Elevators not working is also a never ending problem. The worst thing is the management. It takes only 3 seconds to talk to Joanne, the building manager, who is the owner's daughter, to see how rude she is. We experienced a major water/electricity shut down for days during December 2015 without any feedback from the management team on when the problems will be resolved. Please for the love of God, do not move in here...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ SEX!!!!!!! Do I have your attention? Good! Le Châtelain is not fit for human living! The place is beyond disgusting! It is infested with all sorts of vermin: cockroaches, rats, mice, and bedbugs! The building is dangerous, anyone can get inside, and there are always homeless people sleeping in the staircase and corridors. They do drugs and drink beer, and urinate all over the place. The manager is a callous, narcissistic monster, she is the owner's daughter. She enters your apartment without permission, takes photos (huge illegal invasion of privacy!) and she is a compulsive liar. There are two elevators for twenty floors, and they are always breaking down. In December of 2015, there was a dangerous flood in the building's basement, and the tenants were left with no running water, no heat, no electricity, for three entire days! The building manager and owner (and other staff), did nothing to help us tenants! The fire department and police warned them that there was a huge fire risk! Also, the laundry room has had a lot of thefts, so you can't even wash your clothes safely. I could write a novel about how much is wrong with this deplorable place. Just check their history, there are online reviews dating back from 2009, and once they evicted a sweet little old lady because she was hospitalized and refused a rent increase! The owner and his daughter have the morals of a maggot! Don't move into this dump, it's worse than a landfill!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A terrible place for living, please if you are a student avoid this at all costs. The office lady I dealt with was the owners daughter and she was just a terrible woman who lied every step of the way. Everything was fine at the start since it was so well located and rent was $675 for a 1.5. However there were 2 elevators for 20 floors and they always broke!! ALWAYS! There were cockroaches, ants, and mice. The upstairs bathroom leaked and the water started pooling under the paint in my bathroom roof. Eventually it burst and mold/mushrooms started growing in my roof! Took them 2 days to finally get someone to deal with this, by the time they got rid of them it was a forest. They left a gaping hole in my roof (they removed the plaster to get rid of the mushrooms) for 2 months until I finally moved out.
