LASIK MD - Calgary

Update - review changed from 2/5 to 5/5: I received a call from Addy to discuss my recent appointment. While it's not entirely clear what happened, LASIK didn't receive the results from my Optometrist, and I was informed that had the results been received prior, I would have been advised that my appointment wouldn't be required given my ineligibility for a touch up. I was refunded for the full cost of the exam due to the mix up. I appreciate LASIK promptly following up and helping to remedy the situation. For transparency, I've left my original review below, but want to reinforce that my original review was based on the information I had at the time. Knowing the entire situation, and in light of LASIK reaching out to help me so quickly, I feel a 5/5 review is entirely warranted. Thank you for your help Addy! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had LASIK done back in 2016 and haven’t experienced any changes in my vision until now. I had an eye exam done ~2 weeks ago and the Optometrist informed me that there has been a minor regression in my vision (-0.25 left, -0.75 right) and suggested I request a free touch up through LASIK given that I paid for the enhanced plan. I booked an appointment with LASIK and was charged $90 for a corneal imaging exam. I was under the impression that this had to be done to ensure a touch up would be viable. At the end of my exam, I was told that my prescription is too minor to justify a touch up. Why wasn’t I told that my prescription was too weak to justify a touch up before my appointment? I understand that LASIK needs to complete their own assessment. But, if LASIK already had the results from my last exam, why was I not told that my prescription was too weak for a touch up? I’m required by LASIK to get exams done annually, so why were the results of my very recent eye exam disregarded? I took the day off work, spent an hour at the clinic and paid $90, just to be told something I could have been told in advance, had they looked at the results of my eye exam.

First of all, I have to say that this was a life-changing experience for me and the staff at LASIK MD were really kind in guiding me every step of the way. The surgery was also really fast and Dr Ledger did such an amazing job! I’m still in recovery but my eyes are already doing good. If you can get it done, please go for it, it’s totally worth it and LASIK MD would be a very great choice for your surgery!

This was amazing. Yes it can be scary to think about it, but honestly it took longer to do the paperwork, see the doctors and prep the OR room then getting the 7 second laser on each eye. Rick was professional along with all the staff. I should have done this 10 years ago ! I recommended the advance laser and follow your eye drop schedule!!. Within 4 hours of my surgery and after having a nap I felt great! Now my vision is better than 20/20 thank you !!! Life changer !!

Great staff, worth the money. Should have done it sooner! The doctor was quick, professional and I was comforted knowing this man knew what he was doing. All the staff members were super friendly and helpful and never once did I feel like I was going to have any problems. Excellent! I went from fuzzy TV to 4K right away. Thanks LASIK staff. You changed my life.

For more than two decades I struggled with self confidence issues while wearing glasses. A -9 prescription in both eyes and astigmatism always resulted in expensive contacts or a very thick lenses. Thank you to the entire team, especially Dr. Leger, Jo, and Barb, for making the whole process from consult to post-operative care amazing. The procedure took less than 8 minutes and immediately after surgery I could see 50% better without glasses than I could most of my life, and 85% better the following day. It’s been almost 1 week since visiting LASIK MD and my eyesight continues to sharpen. I’m in disbelief that I will be able to live lens and contact free for years to come now and encourage anyone who is thinking of laser eye surgery to book in with these professionals!

The professionalism of people at LASIK MD is unmatchable. I got my surgery scheduled within a week. Care providers here will give you best advice keeping every aspect of your lifestyle in mind. Surgery itself was quick and uneventful. I recommend this place with 5stars. Keep up the good work.

LASIK MD is the place you’d definitely wanna come to get your laser eye surgery done. I was very nervous for this procedure as I’ve been delaying it for years. From start to finish I was extremely impressed by the staff that helped me and how comfortable the surgeon made me feel, you’ll be in great care. I wish I would have gotten this done sooner as it’s painless and super quick. I usually don’t write reviews but I wanted to write this to let individuals that were like myself who kept scaring themselves out of it to know that you’ll love it. Also if you’re ever lucky enough to meet Jo, she’s amazing and goes through all your eye care needs with you, you’re not just a number to her. 10/10

If you ever need your eyes laser, LASIK MD is a place to go. The staff and surgeons are very friendly and professional. Their price is very affordable. I have got my eyes done with LASIK more than 10 years with and I am still happy with my vision. I can’t complain. I remember before the pandemic, back then when I came for my every 2 year check-up they had those delicious chocolate chip cookies for patients in their waiting room. Thank you LASIK MD! Best decision I’ve ever made to go with them.
