Our story officially began in 1983, when Barry Lammle and his brother saw an opportunity in the retail market - which lead them to open the first 3 stores in their hometown of Calgary, Alberta. Their mission was simple: to address the real needs of everyday Albertans - those looking for a Western retail brand that provides better service, selection, and quality. As a result, Barry spent the next 39 years creating a lifestyle brand experience that welcomes people from all walks of life.
At that time, Barry’s focus was split between retail and ranching, which put him in an ideal position to learn firsthand what our future customers valued. A rancher first, but his retail experience and expertise has always been his true strength. His understanding of his customer’s needs, and his commitment to support local businesses and communities is what has helped Lammle’s become what it is today. We take pride in the fact that those who rely on us as their western clothing supplier are the same families, friends and neighbors we’ve stood beside through decades of good times and hard times alike — and our dedicated employees in our 23 stores across Western Canada wouldn’t dream of offering them anything but our very best.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in looking for a cheap cowboy hat, Sarah was quick to offer assistance. Unfortunately they did not have the hat we were looking for however she offered to send a email out to all the stores in the city to see if anyone had stock. Before we left the mall she was calling to tell us they had found a couple if we wanted to come in and try them. I have been in the store several times before and this is probably the best service we have received

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited the chinook store looking for a new pair of boots. 3 women were standing at the tills chatting amongst themselves. Not once was I greeted or offered assistance. After reading other reviews this seems to be common practice in this store. Fortunately for me there’s other stores I can visit around calgary that I’m sure employ friendlier staff.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Normally I would not go to this location but they were the only store that had a jacket in the size I was looking for. I am pretty sure the jacket was a return as all the tags were inside a pocket as I later found out. Should have been discounted from regular price if it was a return. Nonetheless I still bought it as it wasn't dirty or too badly worn.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bought my first pair of cowgirl boots there last week and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing selection of great quality boots in all sizes. The staff (shout out to Desiree, especially) was amazing and super helpful in my search and provided instructions and products to help keep the boots looking good. Will definitely be shopping there again.
