Pros: Awesome decor. Good music. Good food presentation. Waiter was great. Glad he was bilingual. Decent prices. Can eat inside or outside. Cons: Food is bland. Menu only in French, recommend having screens installed to avoid having flies around, indoors. Overall no regrets choosing this as our first resto upon arriving for our vacation. Good experience.

It’s a must visit hidden gem of a restaurant. We reached the city a bit late at night and wanted to have a nice dinner. After trying our luck at the touristy side of city and having unable to find a restaurant open at that time, we stumbled upon La Cuisine which is surprisingly open until 1 am. We were greeted warmly by Eduard when we reached the restaurant. There’s a really nice retro feel to the restaurant with the cartoon show Popeye running in the background and retro gaming consoles set up across. We instantly fell in love with it! We tried their white beer and cider on tap along with onion soup, bean chilli and meat lasagne. The drinks were refreshing and food was absolutely lip smacking. We are definitely returning here whenever we can. Would give a solid 5 star to this place and highly recommend it!!!

For starters, I came here based on a few recommendations I saw online and also from the reviews on google. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating despite the fact I only speak English and no French. From a taste perspective, the food and drinks taste good although the flavouring isn’t overpowering and perhaps a little bit bland, feel free to add salt as needed; you can think of the meals presented with a touch of home cooking style. Pictured is the soup of the day, the lasagna, the cabbage rolls, and the cider. The prices are quite fair as well given the portion sizes, although do note that due to the limited amount of staff, you may have to wait a little bit of time although that’s reasonable given the number of tables compared to the number of staff. The only complaint I have is the fact that when I brought my takeout back to eat, I found a piece of pink/purple plastic when I scooped a spoonful out of my cabbage rolls and bit into them; the texture of the plastic was very hard and I’m not sure how it got into the cabbage rolls. Unfortunately due to this, I wouldn’t be able to give a high review considering the piece of plastic was quite large and could be a safety concern for somebody who could potentially be intoxicated on a night out with drinks while eating at the same time. Otherwise, I would say it’s worth it to come by to try it once if you’re in the area as long as you’re cautious when eating here.

Great food, great service. Highly recommended. Although they were super busy by the time we arrived there, they prepared our food very fast. I recommend both Lasagna and Cabbage rolls. Their price is also really reasonable compared to their quality. They had play station games for children and child-friendly environment.

The service was honest and helpful when looking for something to eat and drink. Their French onion soup left a sour taste, but their lasagna turned it all around. That lasagna took me back to when I cooked with my dad. When we ate dinner together. I have never had such a food to bring back memories like that. Thus why I am still giving La Cusine a 5 star rating. Would eat here again.

Simple food done well at a fair price. The owner was very kind and explained the whole French menu in English which was very sweet. We ordered some soups and grilled cheese as quick bite to eat. The soup of the day was pea soup and we also got the French onion soup but I wish there was more cheese in the onion soup. We also got the bri, apple, and walnut sandwich which was really good with the soup. We would love to go back there because it was quite cheap with a funky vibe and decent food!

Very interesting restaurant. Feels like home cooking. Very retro feeling atmosphere, with a bar/kitchen open to the seating area. The food was great!. The beer was excellent. Seems like a local spot, so we enjoyed it even more, being away from the tourist area.
