Didn't think this place would be this authentic! The chef told us that he learnt his skills from the older generation locals, and that he also trained in Thailand for 6 months. This place is Asian approved ? We recommend the chicken skewers and the Chow Fun. In general the fried noodles dishes and rice dishes are all amazing!

Starting off with the good, the ambience was nice and staff was attentive and friendly. As a stereotypical Asian, I still ate all my food to get my money's worth... however, I wish we skipped dinner here or rather it was only worth less than half the price we paid. As someone of Asian descent who has both visited Thailand and Cambodia in the past, this isn't authentic and flavorful cuisine to me. Perhaps it was adapted to fit the taste buds of locals who like their food prepared this way but in my opinion, the dishes were too sweet or overpowered by fish sauce. There also wasn't enough lemongrass when the dish specifically mentioned it. I should have known it wasn't authentic when there was celery in the Tom Yum soup. Also the shrimp were disappointingly small and too few. The entrées tasted like what you can make at home if you go to the store and buy canned curries that are pre-made and add coconut milk and throw in vegetables to boil. This restaurant might be the best "Asian" place nearby Quebec but I recommend going somewhere else if you have high expectations for this type of cuisine or else you will think the reviews are misleading.

IMPORTANT TO NOTICE: Both the cantine and restaurant share the same address! I went to the Bati Bassac Restaurant and it was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend! My husband and I purchased the Thai soup, Calamari and Thai Chicken Cury -alllllllll incredible! Literally wished we could have more! The menu for Bati Bassac is at batibassac.com!

Very tasty food and also quite quickly served. Portion size was great. One appetizer, a beer and two main courses came together to around 60 cad.

Nice place with a great terrace. Cozy ambiance. Staff is very friendly. They have many different options in their menu, we had a pad thai and fried rice. Everything was delicious. Dogs are allowed in the terrace, the waiter was very kind to bring water and some carrots for my dog (my dog likes carrots a lot). Definitely a place the we will return!

Decent place to go grab some asian food. Pad thai was better than I expected and non-alcohol cocktails are available. Staff was superb !

Good thai restaurant however it has significant opportunity for improvement. Let me share the pros and cons. Pros: appetizers (super delicious) and the vibe is amazing for drinks and dinner Cons: service (very slow), the waitress had forgotten one of our apps and it came after we finished the main, the pad thai had a sea/fishy smell and I needed hot sauce to help eat it. Overall - needs to improve service and pad thai

My husband and I visited this place on our trip to Quebec city. The place is good, ambience is really nice but there service is very poor. We ordered the Mekong soup, vegetable imperial roll, corn balls and Pad Thai. There apps were amazing especially the corn balls but their pad thai tasted only of fish sauce. Our experience was really spoiled after our waitress forgot our order altogether. We had placed the order of all four dishes the moment we sat down. We got soup and the corn balls after 10 mins but the waitress totally forgot about us. After waiting for 20 mins we told her that we haven’t received the rest of our order and after 10 mins she comes and gets our pad thai. We thought that the imperial rolls need some more time. After 10 mins we asked her about the imperial rolls, she tells us that she totally forgot about it and hadn’t placed the order for it. Anyway after 5 mins we received the rolls and we paid and left. I don’t think we will be going here ever again. No doubt the food is good but their service is really bad.
