Kurry King

Absolutely superb Indian cuisine. Cooked fresh with care and pride to specification. I've travelled a lot and Indian cuisine is my fave. I can honestly say this is some of the best I have experienced, Sooke is very lucky to have Kurry King!

Perfect spice for our(our family's) delicate west coast taste buds, and an incredible amount of love and care put into every dish. 100% we will be coming back to Curry King! Thanks for the epic dinner, brought me back to my favourite curry place.

Twice now I have ordered from Kurry King and both times the service was so good and the food is amazing. Great quality for the price. Butter chicken and cauliflower Pecora are delicious! The family that runs the place are genuinely nice people.

Such a wonderful experience at Kurry King. Ordered 1 Butter chicken combo, perfectly portioned for 2 people. Authentic, tasty Indian food from a very kind family, will definitely be back in the future.

When you drive through a small town, you don’t generally think the food is going to knock your socks off. I went in with an open mind and was totally blown away! First of all, the family who owns the business is so sweet and full of positivity and energy. Secondly, the food itself was legit sooo good. Better than some of the Indian food I’ve have in Vancouver! The channa masala was so creamy and a little spicy, the bread that came with it was UNREAL some of the best naan I’ve ever had. Plus they threw in some yummy chips! This was a 10/5 star experience! Check them out for sure- I can’t wait to go back!

An unexpected little gem in a quiet part of Sooke, BC! My husband and I ( on a short vacation here) ended up at their doors after driving around looking for a dinner option to suit my rather restrictive new diet. Being South Indians ourselves, we were totally surprised to find this unassuming spot that served near home-style authentic dishes from a tiny kitchen at the back of the store. The young couple that run this place were totally welcoming of us and without hesitation offered to custom prepare me a meal that catered to my restrictive diet. My husband had a sumptuous richly flavored Shahi Panner to go with a couple soft and fluffy Dosas while I had a lightly spiced and sautéed prawn dish with a healthy serving of peppers, green beans and peas made exactly the way I had wanted it- very little oil, no onions, no starch and minimal carb. I was very pleased with how the Chef, Ramesh had paid keen attention to how I wanted my food made. Clearly it spoke about their hospitality and sincere customer service. My husband and I had an opportunity to chat with the lovely couple abit. Ramesh and his wife Nandhini and their two little boys are new immigrants, ready to roll up their sleeves to make this home and make an honest living. They have big dreams like every new Canadian and want to offer the best possible service to their customers. I could tell from their friendly demeanor and enthusiasm to serve, that they will do very well in hospitality! The couples' two little sons were a joy as well as they chatted us up while the meal was being prepared!  Clearly these little men are already trained in providing sterling customer service! Overall, a very pleasant dining experience and would go back for seconds in a heart beat. Kurry King Kudos to you! ????

Ok, I rarely write reviews but definitely needed to do this for the lovely folks that run Kurry King at Sooke B.C! This has been a pending task for the last 2 months and finally made it today. We visited Sooke during end Aug, 2021 and were a group of 5 families. Many of us in the group are vegetarians and prefer indian food. Initially we were worried about limited food choices at Sooke, but honestly Kurry King made it seamless for our entire group. We got to know the Chef and his family, they took care of our food needs literally offering to make whatever we wanted whether on or off menu just so that we could have an enjoyable stay ! I also found out that the Chef has worked for over 10 years in Disney & Carnival cruise before deciding to establish his roots in Sooke BC for his family. The food quality and taste was exceptional , and more important was their willingness to ensure we were well fed to enjoy our stay at Sooke ! Oh, plus the local tips about the night market, where to park at potholes etc., were super helpful. Thank you Chef R and to your family !! So any one who is visiting Sooke, if you just love Indian Food and especially if you are a vegetarian .. you will be in heaven ! Enjoy and Bon Appetit...

This is one of the only restaurants in Sooke that offer great vegan food and are so accommodating and genuinely nice people. The beautiful family that run Kurry King make everything in house and you can tell it's with so much love! If you are vegan and GF try the dosa with your curry, so fluffy and delicious! We are so impressed every time we eat here! So much love goes into their food. Thank you so much for what you guys do!
