Send your kids only if they are extremely weak in maths, doesn't help much.

Terrible management. Teens run the show and lack knowledge to guide your kids. They ask you to come once a week only to pickup worksheet instead of twice. Your kids won’t get much help as a result. You end up paying lots of $$$ for just worksheets and kids frustration. During pandemic the experience was even worse. Wasted my money and got nothing in return. Ended up transferring to another Center. Also complained to the head office. Not sure if it will help. Update - I have escalated to Kumon Headquarters and they lack governance and oversight. Wasted hours on several calls with the complaint department. If you do end up sending your kids to Kumon, ensure the Center is living up to your expectations and sensitive to your kids learning experience.

If you're weak in math, then this program is for you but besides that and the higher levels, I'm not sure if it's worth attending.

CLIENT OF 7 YEARS------ Prior to beginning at Kumon, my daughter was studying math at "Spirit of Math" for 4 years. It was time to switch to Kumon, but only if it the proper center with effective leadership. We interviewed a Kumon center by our home, but was disappointed. Then I said it was time to try Mrs Chen's Kumon center at 377 Burnhamthorpe, Central Parkway Mall. We set up an interview and testing with Mrs Chen. She was extremely informative. I was extremely impressed. My daughter immediately began at this Kumon center and found it to be as expected--- excellent. Mrs Chen (senior) was owner and in charge for many decades, alone without assistance while she raised a family. She didn't have anyone to assist in all those years--decades--- if she became sick, or broke an arm---nobody only she was leader of the center----someone who, to this day, is like no other---absolutely admirable individual, teacher, friend, advisor----with infinite amount of wisdom. I can only be so fortunate to have met and known such a wonderful woman. The center functioned effectively and efficiently with a high level of organization. I was a little confused why our desire to attend 3 times per week was discouraged, to only come once per week. In any case my daughter attended 2-3 times per week. as she wanted to learn as much as she could. We drove from Oakville to come this location, passing by 4 Kumons along the way, only because Mrs Chen (senior) made the Kumon center exceptional. However the Kumon center slowly passed hands without formal announcement to her daughter, Betty., With this, it went from excellent-->average/disappointing. Not only is Betty's knowledge limited in advanced math, but her patience with students is completely lacking. At first when I met Betty, I saw she was quiet and knowledgeable for the Reading, as my daughter enrolled in both Reading and Math. As another parent here reviewed, it is the university students working for the Kumon who know more than Betty and run the center, while Betty helps the very young students (age 4-8). I don't believe Betty is capable of helping, guiding or teaching students beyond the age of 11. If your child is older than 11 years old, you will be disappointed with Betty's guidance. Most times you may not see Betty because she is busy getting pregnant (4 children in 5 years--now 5th baby on the way?) and on maternity leave, not interested in running the Kumon center. Having a family is wonderful, but not when she should be physically present at Kumon. If she is present, then it's best if your older child works with the university students and/or Mrs Chen for assistance. My daughter would ask Betty for explanation and assistance, as she completed her math work in class preCovid, only for Betty to tell her to go and sit down, to figure it out herself in a haste tone of impatience. (by the way, it was extremely frustrating to not receive any replies to emails I would send with questions weeks at a time from Betty. The center's lack of communication and Betty's lack of knowledge of material preCovid and then especially during Covid, my daughter stopped, one level before completion of MATH. Spending $130.00 per month per subject was wasted money after repeated months of the same frustration building up in me as a parent. Why was I spending this money, only to see little to no respect from Betty? My daughter will continue at another Kumon center in February 2022 to finish and graduate from Kumon math.) Kumon is excellent if you find the center that fits your needs.---------------PS NOTE: within 12 hours of posting this review my daughter received an email from Betty, harassing her about her mother posting a review. A student is not to be harassed for a review a parent has posted. Yes, the truth may sting, but perhaps it's time to fix the mistakes. Also, this communication by email to my daughter demonstrates lack of sound, professional judgement. It is my hope that Betty will make better decisions in the future,
