It’s great having a decent ramen place in campus for UBC students. While the bowls aren’t cheap, they make a good pork and chicken broth ramen and offer good add-one like fresh garlic, mushrooms, nori, etc. Their side dishes are also tasty and they have combos you can order such as ramen and a beer or ramen and gyoza for a sight discount. If you go frequently, they have a Whole Bowler card that allows you to collect stamps and redeem them for every bowl eaten.

Good enough for when you crave a hot bowl of Japanese ramen on campus. I got the Pork Original and thought it was tasty. The broth was rich and creamy but not too salty, and the thick noodles had a nice chew and was the perfect vehicle for the broth. The torched chashu pork was soft, but I wish they served bigger pieces. I thought the seasoned egg could use a bit more seasoning, and I was a little disappointed my yolk centre was not jammy. Lastly, you can’t go wrong with scallions and nori in your ramen for umami and freshness. I think the portion size is on the small side though, so make sure to add extra noodles for $1.50 if you have regular to large appetite!

Honestly, disappointed. I ordered a pork ramen, thinking that it would taste good. The soup is fine. But the pork is a disgrace, more than half of the pork is completely made up of fat, which is chewy like plastic and inedible. I was expecting some decent quality meat from a place that uses "From Japan" as a gimmick. I can understand that pork or cha-su has some fat in it and little amount such as 20-30% is acceptable, but over 70% being fat is out of the question. Finally, the ramen itself is just like noodles, hard and a bit clumpy, was not expecting it to be good.

The Pork Miso Ramen was pretty good. We also enjoyed the Hot Karaage and lemonade. Definitely a decent option to eat at in the area and underrated review wise IMO.

I recently went to the store at UBC. Pro tip: accept flex dollar!!! It’s just perfect for cold weather. You can choose four different types of soup base - miso, shoyu, original, spicy garlic What did I get? Pork spicy garlic Veg spicy garlic ramen I really like the soup. Nice and spicy with a strong garlic flavour. I’m surprised that the vegetarian option has more toppings! The pork is decent. Highly recommended to get it.

Disclaimer: This was my first Ramen experience and I wanted to utilize an offer ( $5 off ) on my Amex. This establishment is very popular and when I arrived around 7 pm, there was a waitlist. If you are a party of four, I recommend planning ahead. ID & Vaccine record checked, and since I was by myself, I was promptly offered a table at the bar - sweet! I did feel lost as everyone from chefs to the servers seemed to be on roll; busy busy busy, loudly communicating on the incoming orders in what I assume was Japanese ? This was a new experience but exciting nonetheless. I did scan the self serve menu, only to read that Amex isn’t accepted for online payments but the card could be used for in-store payments. Hunt to grab the attention of servers began! I did make a sad puppy face and the server Ms. Mien was kind to put me out of my misery. Asked for a vegetarian ramen bowl and she very patiently explained the difference of broths/soup and what will suit my mood. Ordered the Veg Original Ramen and Hot Sake combo ( Veg bowls don’t have fish - I confirmed, thank god! ) and the Matcha Cheesecake. Sake is nothing to write about, you may skip it if you want. The mild sweetness of the soup is perfectly balanced with crunchy sprinkle of spring onions. For the first time, the tofu did not feel weird. The thick noodles did seem a little chewy for my taste but overall, 5 stars to the Veg Bowl!! The dryness of matcha cheesecake is countered with the dollop of cream it comes with. Perfect finish to a healthy and scrumptious meal. Will totally recommend a visit!

Get the pork spicy garlic with THICK noodles and you won't be disappointed. It was really flavorful and packed a lot of heat. It definitely hit the spot! With Raman it depends what you order and I'm not a fan of chicken. Take out is questionable but it always the best when you have it fresh.

The Ramen was pretty good. I had ordered the Spicy Garlic thick. It was super spicy (a lot more than I expected), but the taste was good. Wasn’t very happy with the portion of meat in the bowl, just two small strips. The seating is pretty cramped up especially when it is full.
