Kalola Spa

I had the most incredible experience at the Kalola Spa in Blue Mountain. The spa is beautiful and the 1:30 hour massage was an amazing birthday gift. A weekend in Blue Mountain with a spa relaxation experience is something I highly recommend as a gift.

A place to enjoy for a massage and affordable and their products are great. Phone in advance to get information, it would be helpful. And you can book a stay at blue mountain Inn where the spa is located and ski, very convenient. Enjoy!

I'll start by saying, I'm not a complainer and this is my first time writing a bad review which should speak to how strongly I feel. I've had many massages over the years and this was by far the worst I've had. I barely felt like the therapist did anything. I asked her 3 times to please apply more pressure and she said she would "try". Nothing changed in her pressure and I just left feeling frustrated that I paid top dollar to essentially have oil rubbed on me for 50 minutes. I asked them to compensate this bad experience somehow and they said there was nothing they could do. In general I feel they have terrible customer service from start to finish. Be weary coming here.

Just came here to Blue Mountains and wanted to visit a spa, came with my little sister( 10 y.o) and asked for the price list. The lady at the front desk is racist (we’re Asians), started to ask us to put the mask on even thought her colleague and another white customer weren’t wearing any. They stated that my little sister should leave and wait outside if she doesn’t want to wear a mask and kept insisting on that. Not even mentioning that masks are NOT obligated in Ontario any more. Would never visit any of this spa locations.

0 out of 10 in person experience 10/10 on the phone experience I called 3 times (Nov.19-confirming female masseuse, vaccine policy, dates and times for 3 people, Dec.4-booked for 3, confirmed again female masseuse and vaccine policy and Feb.22-cancelled 1, confirmed female masseuse and vaccine policy (you're not required to be vaccinated) for Feb 27 @1pm). My friend and I arrived 30 minutes early, no one at the desk was wearing a mask. When filling out the paperwork, they requested a QR code. I explained that I called 3 times and was told each time I didn't need one. "We require one until March 1". I put the paperwork down and said," I guess we won't be staying". "No, no, it's fine I'm not going to argue with you". My friend was brought in 10 min early. When it came time for my massage (1pm) I went back to the desk just after 1pm asking when I'd be brought back, as no one came to get me. They said, "He's just changing the room over" . I reminded the staff I had requested a female masseuse. They said it was never put in my file, even though I confirmed each time I called, as it's very important to me. Apparently she had called in sick and was replaced with a male masseuse. I called my friend who had already started her massage to explain, as they wouldn't interrupt the session. She left her massage, I had already cancelled and left by now, my friend had explained that we can switch masseuses. The staff didn't entertain that idea and wanted to charge her $180 for 2, 1 hour massages that never happened. She wanted to pay for 20 min, even though she was only in for 15 min. They called the owner, who I booked with, the owner told my friend, "we don't want you're money and you and your friend are not welcome to ever come back" Happy 30th birthday to me! Yes this was suppose to be a birthday gift. The staff were polite enough with a hint of condescension. It was very nerve racking and extremely disappointing. I will never recommend this spa to anyone. Note in the picture, there`s no mention of a male masseuse to replace the female masseuse I had requested.

Worst reflexology and pedicure ever! My reflexology was simply terrible. In the hour massage, I had no more than 4 minutes of actual foot (I.e. sole of the foot) massaging, both feet combined. In fact, the hour session only lasted 35 minutes, and included time for clearing away towels and lying in the dark with hot towels on my feet. Towels which get cold very quickly. About 90% of the time was spent rubbing my legs- not what I paid for, wanted or expected. I also had a pedicure - first time I’ve had one lying down, which was almost pleasant, except that the soak time was limited and not repeated once on the bed = cold, I mean freezing feet. Another bad experience with this also. And there were no clippers used, and my nails needed it - 5 days later and they already need a trim. Will not return to this spa. It's way too expensive to receive bad treatments. To be "fair" it seems it’s hit and miss here, as my wife had a good reflexology massage.

We had a wonderful experience at this spa, with a relaxation couples massage. The relaxation helped my wife and I unwind while we were on our honeymoon. It really added a moment of pause, after the planning of our ceremony and nuptuals; especially for my wife -who took on most of the wedding plans. She commented how it helped her feel calmer, and more relaxed even weeks after the service she received. Tracy and Kim who worked on us were very knowledgeable as well. The front desk staff were very pleasant, corgial and helpful with anything that we needed. My wife still raves about it, I think hinting to me that she would like another relaxation massage at Kalola.

Called in a week ago and receptionist who picked up was very friendly. Today we came in for a couples massage and left feeling refreshed and in great spirits. Tracy was amazing and I was relaxed and comfortable with her and my boyfriend also enjoyed his with Kezia. The couple’s massage room was clean and the atmosphere was very relaxing. Thank you very much and we will return again!
