I went here because all the other grocery stores were closed today due to the holiday. This place has terrible sanitary measures in regards to meat handling and poor covid-19 practices. 1) The younger-looking butcher with the beard was holding our meat and other peoples' cuts of meat with his bare hands, not washing them in between customer requests, he should have been wearing gloves. I also noticed he was putting the raw meat directly on the scale without sanitizing or putting any type of separation barrier between the scale and raw meat, this is cross contamination and can lead to foodborne illness. 2) Not just the butchers but most staff were not wearing their masks properly by leaving it under their noses, pulling their masks to speak more "clearly", butcher handling his mask with dirty raw meat hands and then touching everyone's raw meat orders. With rising cases due to Omicron, you would think they would put the health and safety of their customers and staff first but, this just isn't the case. I won't be coming back here for these two exact reasons and I'd highly recommend that you shouldn't either unless you want to take the risk to contract covid or a foodborne illness for the cheap price of meat.

Great source of Afghan food! Breads are fantastic. Butcher is very helpful but you need to be patient for service. Limited produced but lots of dry goods.

This is a gem in downtown for meat. Their meat is always fresh and halal and at $4.5/lb for beef and $2/lb for chicken u can't go wrong.

Overpriced Grocery. Meat department needs to be trained on customer service. Meat also is quite expensive. Average store. Need to put proper price tags on items to avoid irritability.

Local Middle Eastern grocery. There is fresh meat and frozen fish counter. I usually get the canned dolmas, $9.99 for the 2kg can. There's different prices for different brands. Pic below. One reason it loses a star is the overall customer service. No real help given. Just pointing and guessing prices so that I have to go back and forth from cashier to fish counter to get the correct pricing. Also depending on who's working at the meat counter, they seem to lack general politeness and cs towards dare I say non-Arabs which is disheartening.
