K9 Academy Dog Training Center

We did both the entry and advanced level group class at K9. It was such great experience that was both fun and informative. Cass and Anesh are very knowledgeable and always there to help. The classes became the highlight of the week. They helped both me and my rescued dog building a trusting and bonded relationship! It’s such a transformation and we definitely enjoy hearing the regular compliments from strangers saying how well behaved my dog is :)

K9 Expeditions has helped make our life with an aggressive dogs so much more relaxed. We got a new puppy thinking our other dog would take to her quickly but we had no luck. After trying so many different options we came across the K9 Expeditions team and without there expertise we would not be where we are today with our 4 dogs. We can now comfortably relax in our house without the constant stress of waiting for the next fight to occur. We were able to travel across Canada with all 4 of the dogs with so much confidence and control of them. We can not recommend them enough! Thank you so much!

Anesh and Cass are super friendly and knowledgeable. They’re great to work with and my dog Arnold is absolutely obsessed with them. I love taking their classes because the instructions are easy to follow and implement at home with great success! They take safety very seriously and acknowledge the abilities of each dog individually while still teaching a great group class. I’m so proud of how far Arnold has gotten with his obedience training and look forward to more classes in the future at K9 academy. It’s definitely worth the drive from Whitby for us! :)

Get a second dog they said! The same amount of work, double the cuddles and a companion for your first dog. Wrong! Unless you get them trained by Anesh and Cass from k9expeditions. I was looking for a board and train as I have two dogs (one is a puppy), two young children, I’m a business owner, and well, the pandemic. I didn’t feel I could dedicate the time needed to succeed in the behaviours modifications I wanted to get from my dogs. I had heard through the grapevine that the folks from k9 were top-notch, especially to address aggressive dog behaviour. Having two Goldendoodles, I wondered if this was actually not the place for us as they needed more basic training; Walking (not pulling my arm off), excessive barking, some guarding, chewing up my furniture, my baby’s toys, etc. I am glad I chose them to train our dogs as the process and results were beyond excellent! Not only are my dogs trained, but they were loved and respected throughout their time with Anesh and Cass, and we are living way more harmoniously now. Upon speaking with Anesh on the phone for a consult, he seemed to know his stuff and be an advocate for dogs. While he came across as knowledgeable, I wasn’t so sure if I agreed with everything he said. He made it very clear from the get-go that my dogs weren’t humans, that they were dogs, and needed to be treated as such. I wasn’t sure I felt about that. Yes, I humanized my doodles a little too much- they are my babies! In the end, I took the leap of faith based on the reviews I had heard and read about. That is why I’m writing this review today. Know that after getting to know Anesh and Cass, they are two of the most respectful, caring advocates for dogs- your pups will be in GREAT hands if you choose them. Whether it be board and train or group lessons, k9expeditions methods really work. We were introduced to a few techniques: Food incentives, firm communication and praising upon good behaviour, crating, e-collars and prong collars. I was not comfortable at first with the collars. After speaking with Anesh, he assured me that it is an effective way to stop some extreme behaviours and gave perspective into the challenges I was facing. Having my doodles eat every last thing in my house was a safety hazard for them and could cost me thousands in surgery too. Running out the door every time we opened it could result in them being hit by a car. I got behind the collars and decided to go for it. After 4 long weeks, my sweet doodles, Macy and Joey, returned with their same goofy and loving personalities, but with an abundance of obedience. Anesh and Cass include some follow-up sessions included in the program too! My dogs now walk like a dream; people stop me all of the time saying how well behaved they are! While this all sounds very “turn-key” know that if you don’t follow through with what Anesh and Cass teach you, your dogs will revert back. If there’s one thing I’ve learned with both my dogs and my kids, it’s that you can seek help through experts, but following through afterwards is key. Dogs (like kids) need boundaries, structure, routine, respect, and exercise. They also need to know who is their fearless leader! Following our training, I have kept in touch with Anesh. I really, really like him! He’s always around if I have questions or to do additional training with my dogs. He’s not in this for the money, the passion is all in the dogs. Macy and Joey’s tails wag like a helicopter propeller every time they see Anesh and Cass. If you feel the cost is steep, think again. After hiring a bunch of trainers that never worked, a surgery to remove a toy from my dog’s stomach, this was a great financial decision for us too!

Cass and Anesh are the best! They have helped me immensely with training and boarding. Not only do they help correct canine behaviours but they also teach owners how to properly communicate with their dogs. Maggie loves them, highly recommend!

I brought my Doberman puppy Mia to K9 Expeditions hoping I could get some help with her. Anesh and Cass went above and beyond in both the basic puppy obedience class and the advanced class. Although Mia has finished the classes I will continue to use their techniques and am looking forward to their upcoming elite class. Anesh and Cass were both very passionate and caring which made my decision sticking with their classes extremely easy. From crazy Doberman to a good (less crazy) girl. I can’t thank you enough!

We are so glad we found K9 Academy! When we added a second dog to our household we thought we were fine training on our own with basic obedience or watching youtube. But after a few months, our American Bulldog went through the puberty stage and was difficult to manage as she is such a strong breed. She would pull on leash, anxious at home, sniff and lunge at others. Thankfully we met Anesh and Cass on our first 1 on 1 training and our dog was a completely different dog using the tools and techniques they provided ,within the first 15mins of our session! We were initially hesitant with using prong collars and ecollars, cause just like many people, we had the wrong perception on these tools. We quickly realized that these tools when used correctly and learning from these professionals makes a HUGE difference. I highly recommend this training center as Anesh and Cass truly loves what they do and loves animals. Our American Bulldog is much more calm now and walks well no pulling. She has made a lot of progress and we have to continue to be consistent with our training commands. After our training session we have also participated in their large group training sessions and we will continue with their drop in sessions . The founders also built a community with other trainees with their pack walks where you can see all the owners and dogs they have helped over the years! Whenever I go on vacation, my dogs will stay with them as they also have boarding services. They truly are the ones we trust!!

We are so grateful for K9 Expeditions. Our dog was a real handful for us. A lot of it had to do with our lack of knowledge and experience with the breed. Our previous family dog was a standard schnauzer who was quite docile and so when we brought home our Aussie Doodle puppy we were feeling quite confident. We had tried a couple of different trainers each who were able to help a bit but not where we wanted to get to. The first trainer had a puppy course followed by a “middle school” version that were almost copies of each other and focused on the basics.The second trainer did home visits and zoom sessions and the focus was on more advanced techniques and yet at the end of it, we still were still feeling like the dog and us needed a lot more. This is when we found K9 Expeditions and received the training and support we were hoping for. They truly are experts. Not only do they understand the breeds very well, they have the knowledge and experience to provide the training you and your dog need. We saw the difference immediately after our first consultation. Now we understand our dog much better and know how to communicate with her and give her what she needs to live her best life.
