About K-J Bowl
KJ Bowl originally opened in 1964 under the name Todd Lanes. Newton Lanes came years later and then finally to the name we proudly operate as today...KJ-Bowl.
Many will remember Wally who owned and operated the bowling alley as Newton Lanes. Newton was changed to K-J years later. Jocelyn Dearing and her late husband bought it in 2008.
Jocelyn and her husband lived in Montrose since 1979 and raised their two children, often attending the centre to entertain their kids and eventually becoming avid bowlers themselves.
Jocelyn owns and operates the centre because she loves the game and she loves the people. She welcomes old and new, young and old and is a great ambassador for the sport.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great spot for friends and family to enjoy, kids birthday packages available too. Glow Bowl is offered on the weekends from 8-10 pm. Fee was $20 each for 2 adults. Licensed establishment should you need an alcoholic beverage, snacks and some appetizers are on the menu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I dont usually leave bad reviews , but I was so disgruntled after yesterdays events , that I had to share my disgust, After a few phone calls asking about glow bowling and using a groupon I was told I could pay an additional $7 to glow bowl which I was fine with, then I was told NO! the day of, but to call back at 4pm when the other girl was there , so I called back and was told NO! again, slightly confused I said ok Ill just use my groupon another day but how much for us to come tonight she told me and I was happy with the price, I drove our family into town ( 75kms) and when we got there , we were turned away as they told us we needed a reservation??? I told the girl we were coming that night!!! why didnt she tell us a reservation was needed? So we drove away and We actually got in at another bowling alley very easily no problems and we salvaged a fun Night ! But K-J was an epic fail , SO SO UPSET!! My family is very upset with the whole ordeal!! I will not be sending anyone and warn others

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Feels like this place got stuck in time since 80s. Very outdated bowling system and overall decor. Plus they only offer 5 pin bowling, so you can't really play the more popular 10 pin bowling.

5 pin bowling with the smaller sized balls for optimal "not getting your fingers stuck in the bigger ones"
Fair prices and comfy atmosphere.
Come here if you want to relax and sink a few gutter-balls and beers with friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place may be run down, and it may be small. Hell, if you bump into the scoring terminals, the screen could warp or turn off. BUT. That’s character baby. I love this place. Great staff. My girl and I love going there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cozy little alley with friendly staff and great prices. Unfortunately, the lanes could use a little TLC. The lanes were visibly scuffed up, and it didn't take an expert bowler to notice that the wood was starting to warp with age.
Good place to go if you just want to relax and throw some balls down the lane or entertain some kids for an afternoon. Maybe take a pass if you're looking for a serious game.
