★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr Shin has been my opthomologist for many years. He is a caring Dr who I trust and have referred many people to. His staff is always kind and helpful. Covid precautions have been in place, masking, air purifiers, distancing and its strictly enforced.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shockingly, Dr. Shin did not wear a face covering nor face mask during the appointment he had with my mother, which violates Ontario's current COVID-19 measures. It is unsafe and although my mother expressed her discomfort, the doctor cut her off with a "shush". Fortunately, the appointment was brief due to the doctor's unwillingness to elaborate on her health condition.
In addition, during the long wait time for the appointment, we noticed that he treats patients from a different ethic background more respectfully with courteous bows. We felt discriminated because of the inequitable treatment he was providing us. Overall, our experience with this doctor was very poor.

He kindly explained everything to me, spent sometime to depict my eyes issue, which made me aware of the steps that I need to take to fix my problem. he is very knowledgeable and he made sure that I understood and am aware of my problem and what would be the best option toward my treatment. I am so happy that I found Dr John. His staff also are so nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an easy going, down to earth doctor. He’s funny which makes things more comfortable and makes good analogies to help me understand my situation. I feel like I’m in good hands with him. I’d recommend Dr. Shin to anyone who needs an ophthalmologist. He also takes good care of my dad and I appreciate that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 5 stars in overall! Dr.Shin does really care my eyes and he won't miss anything if my eyes have some high eye pressure. He has a clear and sharp thought that gives me a huge relief.
He always makes sure to recheck the test until he finds my eyes are okay and I don't pay anything after I pay first test fee I think that's very reasonable because I used to pay at other places over $130 for just eye check up with optometrist. At Dr.shin's office I only paid $100 (because I'm 33yrs, not over 65) to see an ophthalmologist, who is much better and also keep following up for regular check up without every visit payment!
Dr.shin is my eye doctor in Toronto, no more worries!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have just come from my eye appointment with Dr. Shin and as always it was a pleasant experience, from the friendly secretary who greeted me, to the technician who performed the tests. Both ladies were masked, as was Dr. Shin. Air purifiers were running in his office. Thorough anti-covid precautions were in place.
Dr. Shin has been my eye doctor for many years and due to some recent changes, he has been monitoring my eye health more frequently. He is a fine person, very personable and an excellent physician. He updates me if if there are any changes. I never hesitate to recommend him to people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I found Dr. Shin to be incisive, clear and kind.
He was straight with my elderly father about the severity of his eye inflammation on the first day: He might not regain vision in the one eye. But Dr. Shin would do his best. The prescribed regimen: daily medication and weekly checkups.
Driving my father to his weekly appointments for 3 months while working FT was grueling (for the both of us), but Dr. Shin always greeted us with a smile, a laugh and clear explanations (he likes his analogies!), which often put our minds at ease. He also adjusted the dosage on the fly, after carefully examining my father’s progress, which worked wonders.
Today I’m very pleased to say my father can see with his right eye. Thanks again, Dr. Shin!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr Shin has been my ophthalmologist for many many years . He is very thorough and detailed as well as being a caring professional. He has always made me feel completely comfortable. If I have any concerns or issues regarding my eyes I know that I can call always call him and see him fairly promptly. His assistants are great too always friendly and efficient. Everyone was wearing a face mask and air purifiers are running constantly. Social distancing is practised at all times and all patients are masked as well.
