Jo's Italian Deli

Where do I even begin with this place. It's just the best deli sandwich I've ever had, full stop. I've been to famous Italian delis in New York, and this sandwich can absolutely hang with those, not a word of exaggeration. I've been trying to give out 5 star reviews more judiciously on here, but whatever your definition of it is, Jo's meets that bar. Have the Italian sandwich, sit in the welcoming, folksy ambiance, and just enjoy. Add on the focaccia just to taste the quality of their baking too if you can. As a card carrying bread head, it is certified amazing. They also stock a few fine quality groceries if you're cooking a special meal, that's pretty handy too. The staff are friendly, there's pictures everywhere teaching you about this place's history, it's all just a lovely experience. I look forward to Jo's every time I go.

Amazing Italian deli with friendly service. The place has a bit of a vintage vibe to it, which I love. Their sandwiches are AMAZING (the best bread I've ever had, and always perfectly loaded with the freshest ingredients). So far I've tried the prosciutto and the spicy Italian — both awesome, can't wait to try the rest. They have good combos that let you choose a deli side (my fav is the artichoke antipasto). They accidentally gave us the chickpea salad on our last visit, which was a kinda inconvenient but we still enjoyed the chickpea salad. We also tried the rosé pasta and it was yummy! Definitely freshly made in-house, but I wouldn't compare it to restaurant-made dishes. My boyfriend and I like to come here to grab take out (well packaged) and head down to Jericho to enjoy it. They also have seating inside (and a few seats outside) that have opened now that the COVID situation is improving. Can't wait to be back for more!

One of my favorite spots to get lunch and dinner in the kitsilano area. Ive been a happy customer since day one since they opened in chilliwack and so happy they expanded to vancouver! ? You have to come try their spagetti and meatballs / italian sandwich. I highly recommend :) you will be coming back for more.

Quaint family-owned deli with amazing classic Italian sandwiches and handmade pastas. There is seating indoors, but I dined on the tables outside. They make almost everything from scratch, and the quality is phenomenal. Very friendly staff, and quick wait time for the food. I honestly can’t pick a favourite dish, as everything was so good. Generous portions at very reasonable prices. My order: Italian Sandwich: These sandwiches are huge and loaded with meat, they definitely don’t cheap out. Many slices of assorted cold cuts, and my favourite was the Jo's Vinaigrette on the lettuce. Even the tomato slices were thick and fresh (no end pieces here!). Onions were sliced super thin, so it isn’t overwhelming, and adds an extra crunch and flavour to the sandwich. Prosciutto Sandwich: Generous portion of Italian Prosciutto, thick slice of creamy fresh mozzarella, and the amazing vinaigrette here as well. Spaghetti & Meatballs: 3 tender meatballs in their homemade tomato sauce. Love their meatballs, you can taste the mixture of fresh herbs. I would order extra meatballs next time, they’re that good. The tomato sauce isn’t too sour, and it is super flavourful. The pasta is also handmade in house, and you can really taste the difference – the pasta texture is amazingly bouncy/chewy. I had takeout and re-heated it the same night, and it was still delicious. They have a family sized option available for their pasta’s as well. Rosé: Radiatori in a creamy tomato sauce. Again, I love their hand-made pasta’s, and this shape really locks in the sauce. No meat in this dish. All pastas come with a slice of house-made herb garlic bread. Overall, best sandwiches and pasta I've ever had.

Really love coming here for lunch to grab a sandwich every so often! (great spaghetti and meatballs as well) They also have large windows which makes the place super bright. Lots of seating as well, so you never have to worry about it being cramped!

Jo’s has an Italian story as enticing as Rome itself. Embedded in red sauce origins and a hearty menu full of favorites, there’s a bit of something here for everyone. Reasonably priced, good portions, tasty food, very nice staff, and free wifi if you need to sit in and work (though not good for phone calls, can be a bit loud). On the staffs recommendation I got the classic Italian sandwich (1st menu item, also pictured below). Took this in a lunch combo with the pesto antipasti. Both were good! Will be returning to try the famous red sauce itself, might even pick up some pasta to take home from the little shop they have in the corner.

Jo's Italian Deli is a great spot for fresh pasta and Italian ingredients for any Italian night! Jo's was a staple during the summer time, being able to bike down and enjoy either a sandwich or fresh pasta for lunch or dinner. On my last visit, we got the parm sandwich, rosé radiatori and bolognese rigatoni. You can get each order as a combo, which comes with a deli side, on top of the free slice of toasted focaccia you get. The pesto radiatori salad is TO DIE FOR! 100% recommend. Very happy to have finally found authentic Italian food in Kits! I have been missing my nonni very much since moving here but everything from the pasta sauce to the deli aesthetic reminded me of home. Would love to see a veal or eggplant parmigiana on the menu in the future!
