Best Persian restaurant in Canada

A	Asmita Chakraborty on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came to this Persian restaurant for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The interiors are very beautiful. We had lamb / beef donair platter & chicken platter for lunch. Both of them cost about 14$ each. They come with aromatic saffron rice, hummus, tzatziki, pita, and huge portion of meat donair, and shirazi salad. In fact we felt one platter was large enough for one person to finish completely. The presentation of food and hospitality were amazing. In short , my experience was awesome and I wish to visit again to try other dishes.

The owners are kind, polite and, from the look of the awesome recent interior restaurant upgrade, also very sharp. Ok so 1st, my husband is Persian and we have eaten Persian food from UBC to North Van to California. Sahel ranks in the top of all of them. And luckily is the closest to where we live. 2nd they have wonderful vegetarian options: eggplant stew, salad, olives ? awesome hummus, great bakhlava and Persian ice cream!! With extra drink options and an amazing literal wall of different types of tea (see first pic below) in the market section, it beats other restaurants hands down. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of the owners Maryam and Ramin, and that they didnt yield and held on through many difficulties. We are super happy to see the development and success of this local gem; and look forward to celebrating and supporting it into the far distant future. Highest ratings possible!!!

A	Axel Ziba on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Used to come for a take out all the times until i noticed the copper traditional dishes and decided to try the dining. Great experience. Super delicious. If you haven't tried the Tahdig (crispy Rice) it's out of this world. Loved it so much we returned the next day.

The service was good and the decor modern and unique! I celebrated my birthday here and would recommend coming here!

Now, they have a restaurant with live music and a barbecue that you can see how they prepare their delicious kebabs! Out experience was great. The only thing was slow service. They need more waiters and staff for the times they are full house.

The food and the ambiance were amazing! Live music (accordion, piano, vocal) was a bit too loud for the group to converse. But overall I will definitely go back and bring family and friends.
