Came up to Calgary one day and went looking around to see what I could find, stumbled upon this shop and went in, had some cool vehicles out front, but looks like a messy junkyard. came in and the person at the desk was very ignorant. I had asked a few questions that he didnt bother to give me a good answer for. then was ignoring a customer who was upset about a product he had purchased. I didnt buy anything from them, but I dont think I will at all

These guys are awesome! I purchased an EJ205 w/ avcs (Subaru JDM engine) from JDM Tuners. They helped me get all the necessary parts I needed for my swap and are very knowledgeable and friendly. A special thanks to Fried (I hope I spelt that right) for helping me with everything and answering all my questions, he is a wealth of information and very patient! Thanks buddy =)

My car was needing to replace the steering rack and Our mechanic had asked us to go to this company. We purchased the steering rack and gave it to the mechanic and he realized that it wasn't even the right part. The mechanic had to go back two or three times himself because they kept giving him the wrong part despite our mechanic providing the CORRECT part number. We eventually came to the decision that our mechanic did not want to waste any more time and charge us for hours of trying to fix the car with the wrong parts so we went back to return it. We went there and we were greeted with unprofessionalism and rudeness. My boyfriend was trying to return the part but they kept saying they don't do returns despite them giving us the WRONG part AND it we didn't use it AT ALL. The guy at the front desk kept saying the guy who sold us the part wasn't around and that we would have to come back tomorrow. He also refused to call him and made excuses like "Oh, he's driving right now." even though he called him the first time. We wasted around half an hour waiting for the guy. When he was finally there, he kept making stupid excuses like: - "You didn't tell us the year of the car." Which WE did, because when we came in the first time he asked for the year of our car. - "Mechanic didn't give us the part number/mechanic didn't check if it was the right part." Our mechanic literally had the part number on the invoice, and he came back two or three times to keep replacing the part, because he knew it wasn't the right one. Then he proceeded to tell us he can only offer in-store credit, exchange, or find the right part but it was already frustrating enough having to tell him that our mechanic does not want to waste any more time or keep charging us for wasted hours. The guy then started to insist that we had to pay a re-stocking fee but we told him that we would not pay that because it was the wrong part and that it wasn't used by us at all.Β  He eventually agreed to give us a full refund because it was obvious we weren't going to leave without our money back. We wasted quite a bit of time arguing with them when it was pretty obvious that they did not give us an appropriate service and that they were in the wrong. If we had to wait for tomorrow, we probably would have never gotten a call back. I don't recommend going to this company at all for anything and would just spend the time looking for a reliable mechanic shop rather than wasting time trying to reason with them. I give an extra star because we eventually did get our full refund back, but it was not easy and it was a load of bullshit.

I purchased a used EJ207 engine from JDM Tuners back in the spring/early summer and although I was assured it was in good running order, it was not. When picking up the engine, I questioned them on warranty and the person with whom I was dealing with kept mentioning that there would be a start-up warranty so I would be covered in case anything was wrong. Fast forward a few weeks to once I actually got the engine in my car and started, it was knocking hard. As soon as I reached out to JDM Tuners about starting a return, exchange, or refund, they became an absolute pain to deal with. I heard every excuse in the book from "the warranty is actually a 30-day warranty" to "you took too long to install it", to "I have to discuss with the owner", and so on... I had to call them every single day for weeks to get any sort of money back, and every time I called, they told me they needed some new piece of info that would take days for them to process. They first attempted to blame me for improper installation, then they needed photos of the engine in my car, then videos of it running, then a diagnosis of the engine actually being blown by a reputable shop. Once they accepted that the engine I was sold actually was blown, they offered me about a third of what I paid for the engine as a refund. They also tried to tell me that I would not get my tax back because that was not included in the listing price. I promptly explained to them that's not how taxation works, and that I would certainly need a larger refund even if I was keeping the blown engine. After telling me I would be getting an e-transfer refund for days, I had to actually request an e-transfer from them because they had gone silent and stopped answering my calls. In the end, I got to keep the blown engine, but I ultimately lost around half of what I paid for it. I will likely never use them again in the future, and I urge anyone thinking of using their services to think twice before doing so. Photo is of a spun bearing that came out of the engine after disassembly. There were multiple like this.

I've been dealing with JDM Tuners for over 10 years now. I bought my first engine from them (a B18C SiR-G/GSR engine with LSD transmission) and absolutely no issues. I've sold the car that I installed the engine in and it's still running great. I worked at a shop that deals closely with them as well. The parts that I get from them have worked great, and when they don't they are very reasonable and have been able to warranty them without issue. These are used engines/trans, etc and it's unreasonable to expect them to be perfect every time, but they've always stood by what they've sold me. I would recommend them time and time again.

Went to pickup some WRX v7 seats from Fred. Super nice guy to talk to and exactly as what was in the photos. This place is a used JDM parts warehouse to put it in the easiest words. They remove parts and resell them as if you were getting items from a part out. So make sure to take your best look over everything before you buy. They have improved significantly since my last visit 4 years ago.

Gone to them for several parts at various times. Most of the time they never get back to you for parts. Or they have the parts in stock but don’t want to sell them as they are attached to an engine they want to sell whole. They always give an excuse they have to go check their yard but they never do. I would not recommend buying parts from this place. So your research as there is a lot of parts from USDM cars that will work on our loved JDM rides. History. I have purchased a set of used coil overs that were blown. Hard time returning them. Set of Bilstein struts that blew up 3 months after install. Set of STI Spec C rims. Decent. Bit overpriced Tried to get control arm, rear subframe, and power steering pump. Never a call back about the parts. If I could give them zero stars I would.
