★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Asked J. Murphy for a quotation; a tiling job. He came out to have a look on July 10th 2015. The job is to tile 5 steps outside my house, and I provide the tile which is already picked out. J. Murphy said that the job will take about one day and he'll send me the quotation. I emailed him on Jul 20th asking where the quote is. The automated reply said he's 'out of town' and returning on the 27th. Finally the quote arrived on August 26th. It was $300 for power washing the 5 steps?! And $2,450 (all excluding tax) for tiling the 5 steps (not including the tiles themselves)?! I was very surprised at the high quote for 'about a days work' since his website offers a standard price of "$55/Hr". I asked him why he's charging for over 5 days of work for a job which will take 1 day of work? He replied: "How much would you charge to crawl around on concrete and breath in concrete and stone dust all day?"

Communication is always on point and whenever they needed to ask me anything they would call or do a video call so everybody was always on the same page before anything got installed or moved. I will definitely keep James' number on speed dial.
His crew was friendly, eager to help, cleaned after themselves and did a fantastic job. James also has contacts with different contractor to get any type of job done, fast! Highly recommended!

James is a honest contractor and was very good with the process from start to finish. I will absolutely recommend James to all my friends and family!! My first meeting with James was a blessing ,I knew this was going to be a good fit .James knows his stuff and is very knowledgeable in so many items in the trades . I'm in the trades myself and I expect the best in my trades I hire.
James has excellent staff with great people skills. Hats off to Alfredo . Alfredo stands out in a big way .He is so polite and a caring person , great working skills and he can run a crew of guys. We just love seeing his big smile and great attitude.
I'm on a strata council in a 82 unit condo in Pitt Meadows . We have many items that need work done around our building and James Murphy's company is on my speed dial in my phone. This review is to put it out there that J .Murphy's company can be trusted to do the job and do it right.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ James gave my business a bad review & here's why. He asked for a quote admitting he didn't plan well and now windows have arrived so he's in a panic. A couple hours later he says he's got a quote from a competitor & could I bid less than that because he didn't plan for scaffold. I suggested he simply go with the bid he'd already received from a competitor. Then he got snotty. This guy won't be doing any work at my place & that's for sure! James runs a company that can't plan past tomorrow evidently. My business has hundreds of much larger & very satisfied clients. We don't under-bid competitors for James because he didn't plan on that cost. Caveat emptor people!
