I spent 7 minutes trying to get through to ANY receptionist and it not only wouldn't let me press "0" to get to someone... Takes a million years for the options to be verbalized, and once they are they are so convoluted and confusing by the time I could get through to anyone it was 12pm and I was immediately told everyone was on lunch and would have to call back in an hour. SO FRUSTRATED, it should not take me this long to try and talk to a person. All I wanted was to make an appointment with my GP! UGH.

Yelling “I’m going to need you to CALM DOWN” at someone who is crying isn’t the way to achieve what you’re trying to accomplish.

Lately has been getting very slow. Last time I tried to book an appointment I was waiting on the phone for over 1h30min until I had to drop the call because I had to leave.
C	Corwin K on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been working with Island Sexual Health for a year regarding gender affirming care. A few doctors, nurses, and staff. All amazing, supportive, knowledgable. Yes, phone system can be a bit rough but they are dealing with enormous call volumes. They've also been doing a lot of hiring and wait times appear to be dropping a lot. All that said, what health care provider isn't dealing with wait times and other issues? Huge appreciation to everyone on the Island Sexual Health team.

Dr. Quinn did the procedure and I couldn’t have asked for a more kind and compassionate doctor. She took the time to explain what was going to happen before and while completing the procedure and made me feel completely at ease. She also made me laugh quite a few times which helped me not be as anxious. All of the staff there deserve kudos as they were all incredibly great to deal with. It’s obviously been a challenging time with Covid so I appreciate it!
J	J on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr. Elizabeth Mason is a 10/10 physician. I started seeing her just less than a year ago. She is thorough, fantastic beside manor, compassionate and patient. She listens to all my concerns and works with me to address them quickly and with my overall wellbeing as a main priority. I feel completely comfortable with all the staff at Island Health. They're very kind, friendly and accommodating. It can sometimes be hard to get through via phone. The wait time can be several minutes, but that's nothing abnormal for a busy doctors office. I was really lucky to find Dr. Mason, would recommend her 100%!
