Being a riding for over 40 years and professionally riding as a career, I can truly say This motorcycle dealer is truly the best! General Manager Bill Wellbourn drove mid island (Parksville) to deliver my new motorcycle on his day off (Sunday). Very professional and the best customer service. The staff are nothing but the best, with extreme knowledge of their product. Other dealers can learn from Island Motorcycle Company.

Great Motorcycle shop! Bought my first bike here, a BMW G310GS, and they were very helpful. Norm is the man, he took me out for a wicked test drive and came with to bring it home, since I only had my L.

Desperately looking for a part that is currently unavailable anywhere in the US. The system said IMC was the only place that had it in North America. Tom couldn't find it in the system, but took my info, went to search manually, found it and called back to make the sale. Most shops won't even bother helping any more if it doesn't show up on the screen. Great effort and with a great attitude.

I can't speak highly enough of Bill, Rozy and the whole team. Bill went out of his way to help me on a used bike that isn't even within their lineup. This model garners quite a lot of interest when they come up, so he took my deposit on Tuesday, knowing I was coming down on Saturday. At the dealership on Saturday, things went like clockwork. Norm got me out on a test without issue, then Rozy got the paperwork and payment taken care of without issue. The best part, was Bill even offered to deliver the bike to me in Parksville for free the very next day (today, Sunday!). I am very impressed with the way everyone within the dealership treated me, and I will definitely be looking to give them my business whenever possible moving forward. Cheers guys!

I would like to thank everyone at Island Motorcycle Company, and most especially Bill and Bernie for all their help over the years. In today's world it seems you never get that personal attention with large companies. Time and time again they have helped me out whether I'm traveling the world or just stopping in to say hi. It sets me back as this is so rare these days. Thanks Sid Fuller

Called them daily for 2 weeks leaving messages each time with my callback info. Never got through, and never got a callback. Shame I guess I'll go spend my 34000$ at Yamaha ?‍♂️ rookies. Oh and there parts department is opposite of helpful best stick to aftermarket. Get it together

I brought my 2001 GS into the shop to get fixed. Bernie was a star, he walked me through the various ways we could get it on the road again and the various costs. A very helpful and empathetic man. In the end, it was not worth fixing, but my experience with Bernie will make me come back to buy a new one if I ever choose that route. RIP old GS!

I brought my 2013 Hyperstrada in for it’s 15000km service a few weeks ago. The service writer told me that it required a valve adjustment, new belts, brake fluid flush and an oil change, and I asked for removal of the evap canister. He told me that they would also perform an inspection and they would let me know what else they found. He gave me a quote of $1600-2000 for the servicing, depending on what they found. I said sure. I am very mechanically competent, but I wasn’t willing to tackle the valve adjustment on my own so I wanted it done by an expert. They called me midway through the following day and told me that he had made a mistake, my bike is actually a hypermotard (it’s not) and it didn’t require the valve adjustment (the hyperstrada has the same engine as the hypersmotard). He said they found rusty steering stem bearings, and I agreed to have them fix that. I asked for another quote and he said it would be probably still be around $1600 because of the steering stem bearings. The next day, I picked the bike up after work. My bill ended up being around $2200 because they took the liberty of charging me hundreds for spark plugs and an air filter. I wasn’t happy about that, but I paid it so I could just get out of there, I wasn’t in the mood for confrontation. The icing on the cake was when my aftermarket shifter (that I installed in 2017) broke on the way home. The head of an Allen bolt happened to snap off while I was riding on the highway. I was stuck in first gear until I could get it into my garage to fix it. It seemed a little fishy to me. The bike seems to be running fine but I’ll never go back.
