I've worked for over 10 companies and let me tell you there is no company quite like Ironclad. Employees are treated with respect and valued immensely. Loyalty is paid back ten fold through the company's generous profit sharing program. The company also has a communal fridge and cupboards full of food, and a kitchen staff that serves hot lunches everyday all of these perks at no extra cost to the employee. This is just the tip of the iceberg for all the perks working at Ironclad provides. If you get the opportunity to work here you must take it!

My husband has worked in the construction industry for many years. He has worked for some good companies, but for the most part, the companies he has worked for have left much to be desired from an employee point of view. Then, 2 years ago, he got hired on as a labourer for Ironclad Developments. Our view of construction industry jobs has done a complete about-face! Ironclad, with Ryan VanDamme at the helm, has raised the bar for all other companies in terms of values, vision, treatment of their employees, mutual respect, and a genuine desire to see their employees improve and get ahead in life! My husband was hired as a labourer. But that is not the end of the story... He was given opportunities for advanced training, which, in his experience, he knows how invaluable it is, if an employer will invest their time and money to train you for other positions. My husband was very grateful for the opportunity to be (re)trained and certified to operate a "Zoom Boom", a skidsteer, and also did some training on a mini excavator. But that is not the end of the story... He was given the opportunity to prove himself capable in many ways on the job site, and the management team that oversees every aspect of operations were always helpful, always had a listening ear, and were always grateful to have involvement from other employees, especially when they had valuable experience and insight that would be an asset to the job. But that is not the end of the story... Ironclad has, from my husband's first week on the job, gone over and above the call of duty of any construction company in treating their staff like real people who are valued and appreciated! Company emails from head office compliment the staff on accomplishments, and give details and kudos when they are earned. Most notably (because in many years of working for other companies we have NEVER seen this), every week on Friday, the company provides lunch for their employees. Always different, always fresh, always hot, and always compliments of the company. We are blown away by this generosity and demonstration of gratitude towards people who are already getting paid for the work they are doing, and never expected this! And then a worldwide pandemic happened... but that is not the end of the story.... During the entire period of time of this global crisis, Ironclad has been supportive and followed all the recommended job site actions, even going so far as to search the country to provide their workers with proper PPE (respirator masks) so that the workers can continue on in a safe work environment. The Safety Team is constantly monitoring the site to ensure that workers who are on site are healthy and not negatively affecting anyone else. The day to day operations have been tweaked and altered continually, during this constantly changing pandemic environment, to ensure everyone's safety. And most amazingly, the company has been and continues to be committed to keeping the projects moving forward, and keeping people employed and earning a paycheque. We feel greatly encouraged by the proactive steps the company is taking, and knowing that they are as fully committed to us as we are to them, is a huge relief amid the uncertainty of the global situation. In a time when many, many people are losing their jobs, being laid off and don't know what the future holds, we are encouraged to know that if we commit fully to the company's vision for the future, that we are actually helping them to realize it, and helping our own future in the process. And that is most certainly not the end of the story...! Ironclad Developments has earned an award as one of Canada's Best Companies, and my husband and I highly agree! Mr. VanDamme has our most enthusiastic congratulations, and wishes for continued success, prosperity and growth across Canada!! I would highly encourage anyone with skills, and a desire to develop themselves, who is looking for employment in the construction industry, to check out Ironclad and consider a career with this great company!! :)

Our company K&E Cleaning Ltd. has been a trade for Ironclad cleaning their buildings during and after construction. We have had the best experience with this company and can fairly compare as we provide these services for numerous other companies. It has been a pleasure to deal with people either on the phone at their offices or staff on site. Their professionalism is greatly appreciated!!!

Update: I really had hoped that I could update this review with a positive but unfortunately here we are a week later and absolutely nothing has been resolved. I am still awaiting that promised phone call from senior management. That really shouldn't surprise me since my husband and I have called head office and our buildings office, left messages and have never received a return call. We are still assigned a plainly marked visitor stall and my husband has still not been reimbursed the thousands of dollars he paid out of his own pocket to help them out of a bind. Lots of promises made when this company needed help, if only they were as good as their word. I truly hope this is all resolved very soon so I can update in a better way. Getting more and more frustrated as time goes on. My husband and I have moved into their new building in Langford. Although I went to bat for them when moving into the building was delayed and my husband helped them out of a bind when they weren't going to be able to fulfill the promises of movers when move in day finally came around, we have definitely changed our opinion. We wish we had never given up our house to move in here. Call the office as much as you want and no one will return your call. Our lease stated we would have 2 parking stalls and we ended up having to fight for 2 stalls. We finally got 2 stalls assigned but then they turned around and made one of them a visitor stall but try to tell us it is still our assigned stall. How will they enforce that when they clearly marked it as a visitor stall. They try to justify it by saying, " We won't charge you for it". We were also told that if people parked in our stall we could have them towed away. Even we know we can't do that because they've now marked it as a visitor stall. Then rent didn't get taken out for October and I was told it was because we hadn't given them a void check but when management went in to the file low and behold there was the void check. He then tried to say it was because we hadn't filled out the paperwork. We thought it was all taken care of when the lease was signed. Isn't it usually management responsibility to make sure all paperwork is done? So completely and totally disappointed and frustrated. Love the suite but management really needs to get it together.

Don't work for these guys or their sub trades...nothing but thieves and liars!!!!!!!! Work for them and your tools will go missing!!!! They say that THEY are the only ones with access to the job boxes, so it must be them taking the tools!! THEIVES!!!! November 24..was told last week that they would investigate the situation. Told today, its company policy not to replace tools stolen from their sites. Why couldn't someone tell me that last week? Also told that subs aren't allowed to put their tools in ironclad job boxes, I wasn't told that when I was on that site either.. IGNORANT, LIEING, THEIVES!!! Now I go to police and file a report!!!!!

We very much enjoyed our week at the furnished apartment. If we had to stay at a hotel for a week it would have cost us much more. And since we have a family pet that comes with us she felt like it was home. The floorplan of the apartment was very nice. Being able to cook our own meals was a huge cost saving. Management at the building was so helpful. If we had to do this again we would definitely chose the Onyx.

After 30 years of working for various companies in the construction / engineering field, I finally found a company where I truly enjoyed going to work every day. Management, co-workers, and trades that I all had the opportunity to interact with were great. There is a push to get buildings constructed and that keeps the day to day work interesting. As long as you stay positive, put in an honest effort and are ambitious, this company will reward you with a sense of satisfaction at the end of the day. The owner and senior management were nothing but supportive throughout my time with the company. Unfortunately I moved overseas so had to leave ICD but am hoping future expansion brings ICD to Australia. I'll be the first in line to apply for a job.
