★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This store has exceeded my expectations. I came here to utilize fluorescent tubes( this store is the only one in Ottawa that accepts these kind of bulbs for recycling), and occasionally found out how unique this store is. The amount of furniture for outdoor use is the biggest in Ottawa on my opinion.

I also bought grouting material, not only I bought cheaper but the colour I want.

Searching for an over the range microwave and everyone else is complaining about not getting stock.
Not only do they have them, they have them in stock and a choice!

I don't know if I'm on hold , forwarded or lost in space, but it took me 7 real minutes just to reach someone , after having to redial 5 times, just to be sent to an answering machine. They really are only in business for shoppers. As a contractor my time is better served elsewhere

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Anti-theft measures drove me to Amazon.
Went in to buy a Lutron smart dimmer switch. The box on the shelf was empty. Asked a (possibly high, definitely disinterested) guy what the deal was and he said they'd give me the unit at the checkout counter.
I go to the ONLY staffed counter and the young kid doesn't know what to do and heads off for help. He comes back and tells me the unit is under his counter, but he doesn't have the key to open it (they must think, like us customers, all their staff are thieves too).
After waiting for a bit I tell the kid to forget it and I just buy my other items as I'm late to meet friends for dinner.
While waiting to be seated, I find the switch is available on Amazon for the same price and they will deliver it for free the very next day. Easy-peasy!!
I want to support local businesses, but Rona's staff policies and staff drove me to Amazon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yesterday I had a few minor issues with my purchase of a lawn tractor. Why am I giving this store 5 stars you may wonder? Because of how the store assistant manager, and manager, went above and beyond to rectify the issue is record breaking time.
I look forward to making future purchases here because I know that this store treats customers like family.
