Hillside Shopping Centre

I'm not a Mall Shopper, but there's a Jeweller in there where my Wife and I purchased our Wedding Rings. The Canadian Tire is Great! And it's cool that Walmart will be opening there soon! No need to drive out to Uptown! Looking Forward to it!

Nice clean modern mall. Lots here. New Walmart will be a good addition over sears.

One of 3 malls in town, Hillside provides a myriad of shops, from cards, assorted gifts, all types of cuisine, books, video games, drugstore, outlet shop. With a Canadian Tire and a Thriftys you can be assured that you will find anything you need at this mall.

It is an ok mall. Food court has a variety of options. I usually only go in to 2-3 stores. Not a lot of options though for young adults in terms of clothing. There isn't really a lot there in my opinion and nothing very exciting or different.

I went there many many times in the past, as I use to live in Victoria. I actually grew up there. I always loved going to all the malls there. The Hillside Shopping center has a little bit for everyone. Clothes, food, toys, games, shoes, chocolate ??... bank, Salons, beauty products, jewelry, see what treasures that you can find... Stop in today & check out the lovely atmosphere & free parking for while you shop! ?

It's so big now (it's been a long time since I wandered the interior of the mall)! There is a large number of vacancies in one part of the mall, but that isn't surprising given the impact of the pandemic on small- and medium-sized businesses. It 's also very nice, with wide halls (important for my power wheelchair) and well-lit. I enjoyed the visit immensely and spent way too much money. I wish health, safety and happiness to all. I visited Bolen Books inside the Hillside Shopping Center on the 23rd of November at 9:10AM to buy my children's Christmas presents. Opening time was 9:30AM, and I walked around the food court for a minute. I found out that A&W was offering a $1 coffee, so I ordered a cup of coffee at the counter. I said "Can I ask for a $1 coffee?" and the cashier asked "small? regular?". I replied "Regular black, please". She said "it's $1.05" and I handed her a $5 bill. But the change she gave me was $1.95, not $3.95. She turned around and was making the coffee, and as soon as she handed me the coffee, I showed her the change in my hand and said the amount was not correct. She said that she doesn't have any change right now, and she told me to wait to give me the change when she gets it from the next guest. I was bewildered and embarrassed, but the sudden situation kinda forced me to wait. The next customer placed an order and paid by his card. I took photos of my coffee and change with my iPhone just in case. But as soon as she saw me taking pictures, she said she just got the change and gave me $2. The next customer paid with a card a second ago, how did she get cash change? I was very dumbfounded and angry, but there were other customers in a long line and I didn't want to start an argument so early in the morning, so I just sat in the food court and waited and entered the bookstore. I don't know if she tried to deceive me because I look stupid and am an immigrant who doesn't speak English well, but I hope she doesn't do that in the future. So humiliated and disappointed!!

Contemporary, modern West Coast shopping centre. Food court and bathrooms were nice and clean and well maintained. Lots of stores, a good variety of merchants and merchandise. Exactly what you would expect from today's mall.
