One of the best decisions of my life. Received the smile surgery. The staff was lovely; the doctor was excellent. And I had zero pain or discomfort even.

I am out of words for what happened to me here. Had icl lens implant end of April 2021, removed May 31 2021. Eye pressure was normal pre surgery, now 21-25 everyday. Diagnosed with severe dry eye, feeling of grittiness, dry and tired. Paid close to $8000 and did not get a penny back. It’s been almost a year now, I can confidently say that it has been the worst experience of my life, and I wish I never stepped foot inside this place.

I recently had my Refractive Lens Exchange done by Dr. Herzig. Jackie did my measurements, prior to my procedure appointment and Christina was my consultant. The team at Herzig did amazing work and I would recommend them to anyone that has such terrible vision like myself. I now have 20/20 vision. I’m still healing, it’s been 2 weeks and my eyes are getting sharper day-by-day. I’m extremely satisfied with Dr Herzig and his team. They do excellent work and the facilities are very clean. They have state of the art equipment they use to check the eyes. I have attended other vision centres in Toronto and Herzig was the only eye institute business that had the ability to address my very complicated situation. I was educated every step of the way by everyone I interacted with at Herzig, which created a calming effect. Thank you Herzig and the team

The staff were well trained and motivated to optimize my experience. The facility was convenient to access, clean, and appeared technically advanced. It was a pleasure to meet Dr Herzig himself. He patiently answered all my questions as he explained the procedures in terms I could understand and mitigated any worries I had. My new eyes are fantastic as I am now free of corrective lenses that I have worn for 65 years. The world is a much brighter place and my golf and woodworking and hiking activities are much more enjoyable.

Went for Smile procedure 4 years ago and have tried reaching out numerous times. Never got a call back and after emailing with no response, I just gave up. I have had sparkling and blurriness in my left eye since the procedure. Dr. Herzig saw me once and laughed when I told him I was very concerned about the blurriness and loss of focus of my night vision. I couldn't believe he was being so flippant about my concerns. He told me that no matter what happens, that he would personally "guarantee" my eyes indefinitely if that "would make me feel better". Well its been 2 years and nothing has changed. My vision is still messed up along with my night vision. I feel like we are just cattle walking by with our wallets open. Once they have your money, you are quickly shown the door and sent on your way with no follow up. Thanks for nothing.

My cataract surgery experience is mixed. In terms of surgery, prep and the execution everything was very good to excellent. The staff is professional, friendly and helpful. In terms of prescription for the implants we have agreed to a compromise: one eye for driving and the other one for reading - since multifocal lenses were not an option for me. Thus I still require glasses to even eyes out for precise work - but I can also function without them, which is a big deal. The real problem is that one of my eyes (luckily not both!) is still foggy 15 months after the surgery and it requires a constant treatment to clear up. It is not clear if the surgery was responsible for it or not and I do not want to speculate. The salt water/ointment treatment prescribed at the Institute helps, but it requires a daily application, thus a nuisance. The "foggy eye" symptoms were present before the surgery, and were one of the main reasons for the surgery...so I am 50% back to square one. Thus, a mixed experience.

My entire experience was extremely positive. The level of professionalism and care was far better than I could have imagined. Every person I met from Dr. Modabber to Julie Wang along with the entire staff was kind, friendly and truly seemed to care. Herzig is the absolutely best in the country, if not the world, and I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience. Thank you again for everything the entire team did. You honestly changed my life :)

I underwent the SMILE procedure in January 2021, and it was the greatest decision I've ever made. Dr. Modabber and the team at Herzig were incredible from the initial consultation and assessments (handling everything perfectly during the worst part of the pandemic), through to surgery, and post-op care. I had a couple of issues arise after the procedure, but I did not once feel concerned thanks to the expertise and high standard of care provided. If you've ever wondered whether you should get your eyes done – and it's something you can afford – not having to constantly search for glasses or wonder where you left your contact lens case is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
