β β β β β Eric and his team are amazing. Not just is their work outstanding, fast and fair priced, they also take time to give advice and help planning future upgrades. I went there twice for installation of performance parts and maintenance. The second time, a clutch install, we realized that my flywheel wasn't the proper fit and needed some extra replacements. He made an appointment, got my old flywheel resurfaced, ordered a courier to get the missing piece the same day. He also fixed an issue with my shifter and picked me up up from the sky train at the end of the same day, so I could drive home in my car. He gave me lots of advice about breaking in the new clutch and what other things to look out for on my car.
Absolutely outstanding. Best Subaru shop in the area.

β β β β β Eric just spent close to 45 minutes on the phone with me going over all the details I'd need to be aware of when buying a JDM Subaru, including a ton of pros and cons regarding JDM cars in general. I'm not even a customer yet, but he took the time to walk me through everything. If I do end up buying that Subaru, Eric and the HBL team will definitely be my go-to for service.

They are very honest, and will do whatever they can to help with any car issues you are facing. Eric made sure to explain the situation clearly so that I would understand what was wrong with my vehicle, why it might have happened, what needs to be fixed, how and more. Prices are reasonable and he was more than willing to go above and beyond to help me out. Don't hesitate to bring your vehicle to the team here!

Had some questions about my car before bringing it for service, and Eric didn't hesitate to explain all the pitfalls and common issues that I was not aware of. This is not the type of shop that will try to sell you on service or maintenance you don't need. Honest advice, great service and super competitive pricing. Thanks to Eric and the team, this is now my go to shop!

β β β β β The staff at HBL are professional, talented and extremely accommodating. I drove in from Toronto on a cross-country trip and they took me in despite my tight and unreasonable timelines, and still took the time to explain everything to me, gave me top tips for ongoing maintenance and made sure the car (07 forester) was good to go back. Thanks again Eric for your honest and dependable help!
And he has two sick STIs so you can't go wrong.

β β β β β Excellent shop and customer service. Eric is very knowledgeable and definitely a subie expert. We have a 1999 WRX GF8, went to get the engine re-sealed and the work was coming in right around budget. Of course other things popped up and luckily we had budgeted a little extra just in case. Eric recommended things we should address now and other things we can do down the road. We ended up getting the radiator replaced along with re-sealing the motor. As the work was being done, Eric was mindful of updates with photos and completed the job quickly, even with the added work. Once they were done he gave well informed instructions on how to break in the motor. We've since put 8000kms on it and running strong!
Oh, Eric has also rebuilt our front brake calipers a few months after the engine work. Was very knowledgeable about the longevity of rebuilding the old calipers vs buying new aftermarket parts, which would cost about the same. Again got the work done quickly and affordably. Have put about 2000kms on the brakes and feels much safer.
These guys are legit.

β β β β β I moved with my 06 WRX from across the country about a year ago and I am so glad I found HBL. Since I started getting my car checked/fixed/maintained by Eric and team, I have not looked at any other auto shop. My car has been a passion project for years, but it wasn't until I met Eric that I could finally call it complete.
Eric has a lot of experience and an insane amount of knowledge when it comes to cars. He has been very patient with me and has always kept me updated with any work that he did on my Rex.
Here are some of the things I got done at HBL, oil change, coil change, spark plugs, cam sensors, a bunch of seals, radiator replacement, AC fix, alignment, car height adjustment, wheel spacers, power steering leak, 6 SPEED SWAP from an STi and lot more. If possible I would give him 10βs

β β β β β I would give this place a few extra stars if I could. This shop is a must especially if you drive a Subaru. Eric is very detailed on what needs to be done and why. He also goes above and beyond on getting the parts and finishing the car the same day! If you need your car fixed AND done right, Eric is the guy to go to!
