About Happy Tails Pet Resort & Spa

General Manager

Hi! My name is Celeste, I am the General Manager and one of the owners at Happy Tails. I have been working in the pet care industry since 2013. I am a third generation CKC registered breeder of English Setters and have always been involved in dog sports and raising puppies, and I recently had my first Miniature Long Haired Dachshund litter. I am owned by two English Setters; Venus and Elektra and a Miniature Long Haired Dachshund Phoebe. I also have a daughter named Blayke. Before HappyTails, I was managing another pet care facility in Winnipeg while in university for Animal Sciences. After a few months in the industry, I knew I found my calling! When I’m not at work you can find me spending time with my family, camping, binging Netflix or researching anything dog related! I am so thankful for my amazing team and clients for making my job never feel like work, if you ever have any questions about anything dog related please ask, I love to discuss anything dog! I am thankful to have completed the shadow program at Prairieburn K9 Academy. My mission is to offer the best pet care facility with full transparency, you can find me at any of our three locations.

I took my dog to Happy Tails Pet Resort and Spa for a bath and nail trim. She loves everyone and is very friendly. As she went inside, I said she is dominant and sometimes seems intimidating. I'm the first to admit this. When we go to dog parks and go on walks, she has never been aggressive or started fights. Honestly, she usually just ignores other dogs. When I came to get her the groomers report said she was a "good girl ❀", but the daycare report said she was "aggressive, growling and snarling." I have never seen her behave this way, but, if she was, why didn't they call me????? I was home and could have come to get her as soon as her grooming was done. Instead they put her in a room alone and didn't bother to tell me. When I came to pick her up, they gave me this horrible "report card" and said she wasn't welcome back. That's fine. We don't need daycare. My issue is that instead of calling me and having me come and get her they chose to do this. She wasn't even there for the daycare. I am so disappointed and I'm sad that my dog had such a horrible day. They should honestly phone the owner if they can't manage your dog for whatever reason. I don't understand why they wouldn't.

We went for the free 90 minute session today. My doggo was anxious, but they took great care, provided great feedback and a plan on how we can get her more comfortable. They even took time to chat about leashes! Can’t wait to continue returning for power hours and then full days! My dog is a very important member of the family, they treat her like that and I have full trust and confidence in their abilities. Thank you Happy Tails!

Very clean, professional and loved the fact they post photos through out the day to their Facebook page! My dog is not kennel trained but happily stayed in one while at his first day trying out day care. Needless to say we booked him for a 5 day overnight stay! So happy we found a place like Happy Tails, thank you for all that you do!

We used to take our dog to Happy Tails because we HAD to (we needed daycare for him). But now we also take him on days when we don't necessarily need to but just because he loves it so much. He gets so excited when we turn onto the Happy Tails road, and it makes us feel happy to walk in and be greeted by genuinely friendly staff who know exactly who our dog is and how to correctly pronounce his name (it's a long name in a different language). At the end of a Happy Tails day, our fur baby is content, sleepy, and cuddly.

We didn't have a great experience at happy tails. Many times we were told our dog was over stimulated and barking. Their first solution was to muzzle in order to calm the behaviour. We were told by a staff member that our dog was "not good at daycare" when we picked her up. They are unable to handle energetic dogs and blame the dog themselves. Previous daycares had nothing but good things to say about our dog and her behaviour.

I still so mad. it’s been for several days. I won’t let my dog come here anymore. I have questions β€œwhy am I paying around $40 for my dog and let her spend whole day at this day care? And what is your job duty? ” I wanna my dog have a good time and social with the other dogs. First my dog she doesn’t bite the other dog, just sometimes she has too much energy. So she needs to play in the daycare, not in the cage. Second, she is a jumper, I know it’s not every dog let her, but the worker could use some way to avoid her jump, I don’t thinks she can jump whole afternoon or whole day. The dog is not a kid who can understand human words. If u don’t have ability to control the situation, that your job, your problem. You cannot ask every dog have the good behavior like you expected. By the way, last year, my dog was infected with canine cough after having dog blooming here, we didn’t mention that because I knew it might happened in dog daycare, and it’s a good place for dog play. But this time, you guys blame her just because she is too active and put her into the cage, I cannot accept it. This situation happened to my friend’s dog as well, they put him into the cage because he disturbed the other dog while that dog was eating. But how does a dog know he cannot disturbed the other’s meal? He was a puppy, just want to play! If you only want quiet and obedient dogs, please post this on your website and let people know! Thank you very much! I will keep post if you delete it again! Everyday!

We had an amazing experience at the Samborski location. We took our 16month pup for a sleep over while visiting Winnipeg. Upon our drop off, our pup was very reactive and timid of the staff and the unfamiliar space, which isn’t uncommon behaviour for her, and we were warned that she might not be able to stay due to safety reasons. However, the manager and staff took their time with approaching our pup and ultimately were able to calm her. Honey had a great time at Happy Tails, loved playing with the other dogs and became comfortable with the staff very quickly. The staff showed excellent knowledge when handling a large reactive dog, and didn’t resort to muzzling or isolating her. They provided updates when asked, were always friendly, professional, and honest! Thanks for the great service!
