Very relaxing experience getting a Turkish bath here, first time ever. A bit pricy but it’s meant to be luxury. Good pedicure too. Amazing staff and overall experience. Truly one of a kind being naked bathed and scrubbed by some Russian lady.

The spa is lovely and the staff are friendly. I really enjoyed my facial, my skin was glowing after. She has really soft hands, I even fell asleep at one point. My facial was the high point of my experience. The steam room was great also. Reception was attentive, though they didn’t explain the steam room process thoroughly. My one downside (pretty big though) was my massage. I paid for an hour but probably only got a 40 minute massage in total because the masseur was late and gave me a long long lecture that my mild back pain is because I don’t exercise enough, work at a desk, and have a quote “different body type, that’s not bad, but just different” in the friendliest tone. He even gave me stretches. It felt like a consultation with the physio. I think this was meant to be nice/helpful…but instead I found these unsolicited tips and comments unwelcome, I’ve never had this experience at a spa where a masseur makes comments about my body in ways that kind of felt like I was being politely body shamed with a smile. This is a spa, not a therapeutic massage therapy appointment at an office. I pay the spa premium for a luxe *relaxing experience* with music and essential oils, not to spend 1/3 of my appointment awkwardly standing in my robe while someone tells me I should workout more. I understand if I asked, but it was this unprompted monologue that felt a bit condescending and paternalistic. We talked throughout the massage, it was pretty awkward for me. I kept the conversation going because it felt rude to ignore him and I’m used to doing this kind of gymnastics in my daily life at work, I could tell he was being friendly and meant well, but it wasn’t relaxing to have to feel “on” during a massage in that way. I won’t come back, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you are a woman in a curvy or larger body. I think practitioners in these settings need to be very mindful of what they say and how they say things to clients. Even as I walked home, I thought about how great my skin looked/that I was happy I took time to pamper myself, but I also kept thinking about the unwelcome comments the masseur made about my body, and ultimately that nagging uncomfortable feeling after my appointment prompted me to write this review.

I recently had a Rhassoul Clay Wrap at the Hammam Spa. Upon entrance I was checked in, walked around and showed to the change rooms. The change rooms are quite small, there were 5 girls in there at one point and no where to move. The steam room was beautiful, large and exactly what I pictured/had seen online. They had refrigerated water bottles and little towels near the steam room, which was a nice touch, and packets of raisins, almonds and walnuts in the sitting area. It was my first mud wrap and my masseuse did a great job. She explained everything that was going to happen and it was definitely a cool experience. The heated table was covered in a giant foil sheet and I was exfoliated first, the mud was then painted on and the foil was wrapped around me. I got a mini neck massage while the mud set and after a few minutes the mud was washed off. I would definitely get a mud wrap again, but I'm not sure I would do it at this spa as there were a few negatives. My masseuse got me from the sitting area 5minutes after the start of my time and she left 5 minutes before the hour was up. For $190+ tax and tip I feel like they should be on time and end on time. During the wrap when I was relaxing in the foil before the mini neck massage began all I could hear was the sound of her cleaning the tools that had been used. I'm not sure if this is normal or if they are supposed to wait till the end to clean up, but it was definitely a bit distracting. Overall it was a good experience, but I won't be returning.

I had a gift certificate that I received before the beginning of the pandemic. It was accepted iand the amount put towards the package I scheduled for today with no problem . Their infection prevention protocols are 5☆. Celine was friendly, professional and delivered a thorough natural grain body polish treatment followed by a pedicure. I was able to go into the gorgeous steam room before and between sessions. I highly recommend that. The environment is constantly being cleaned with enough robes, towels and products for showers and hair appliances for everyone. I will definitely return to this gem of a downtown spa experience again soon.

I. Am. So. Happy. I went to Hammam Spa by Cela!!!! I’ve been meaning to since pre pandemic! The massage therapist was very professional and the receptionist as well! The steam room, locker room, etc are all clean and cozy. I love the overall ambiance. I can see myself going back to try their other services. Today i had deep tissue massage— very relaxing for my tight shoulders and back. Cant stress that enough. (Or il get stressed again, ?)

Thank you Jay for the amazing spa treatment on my birthday. I just left and I feel amazing and my skin is so soft. 10/10 would recommend and I will definitely be coming back. The spa essence is beautiful and clean. It's professional and 100% relaxing!! UPDATE - Although the services were great the staff is poorly organized. Upon checking my credit card I realized they didn't charge me. I called in and asked. One staff said my services were cancelled or that I was compensated. No manager was on site to speak with. So I was transferred to a Nick who said it was there error I actually wasn't charged and thank you for calling back. This spa is lucky I am an honest person and was concerned payment was missed. It took over 20minutes to get it sorted out.

Had a wonderful relaxing time at this location. I got their signature facial coupled with their detoxifying algae wrap. Everyone was so accomadating, warm and friendly. The steam room design was hypnotic and the lighting and music created a zen experience for a mini meditation sesh. I wish I had the time to inquire more about the products used for my facial because we are on day 2 and my face still feels baby face smooth & hydrated.

Had a wonderful time here. The receptionist who booked my appointment was very sweet. The whole spa smells divine. I loved the tea room which was so cozy and filled with treats and water to enjoy. I had the clay body mask with a hair wash/mask. Tania was amazing at providing the service. I’ll definitely be back and next time bring my partner too. The steam room was massive and beautifully lit. Two thumbs up
