Prices have to reflect the idea that staff have to be paid and extra cleaning during covid.

Very well organized, and since they have donations and support from some corporate sponsors, the selection of items is often noticeably different than the average thrift store.

Prices are very expensive given the fact that the stuff is donated. Stuff is often no good like spray foam etc. The staff are friendly but there's just too much junk

Depending what you are looking for sometimes has a good selection. Some stuff is way over priced for used. They do get brand new unused items from home depot though, and they are sometimes the best deals. Lots of little things you wouldn't expect like vice grips and wrenches that are brand-new and quite cheep. As with any reuse it store it's a bit hit or miss but definitely worth checking out if you are trying to save a few $

You can call it luck to find exactly what you want, but We usually go in for one thing we need to finish a project at home and come out with 3 or 4 treasures. Service is always positive. They keep things organized. We also get a warm feeling knowing we are supporting Habitat for Humanity in our own community.

People who think Habitat's prices are expensive probably don't realize what is done with the money. Other charities with stores might provide food, clothing, temporary shelter, school supplies and the like. Small markups on small things can provide some charities with the funds to disperse the $100 or $200 their clients need until the next paycheque. Habitat is building HOMES, often in urban areas where property values are high along with the cost of materials and labour as well. (While much of the construction is done by volunteers and by the people who will reside in the house there are also trades, inspectors, regulators who need to be paid as well.) So next time you balk at a price in Habitat remember what they are trying to fund then think back and recall a time you wondered if you could afford your rent or mortgage payments. That might put the seemingly high prices into perspective.

Awesome non for profit department/hardware store. I actually worked here when I was around 20 years old and it's a great place where you can get all sorts of stuff including appliances, paint, flooring, furniture, lights, television sets, and lots of other stuff. The staff are mostly volunteers and all really great people aswell.

The go to pat answer when it is described as ridiculously expensive is " but we are a charity, we build houses for the needy". So the underprivileged, poor folks who shop here because they cannot afford to buy new are given zero consideration as the prices are simply not feasible for them. How sad that your free, donated items are priced for the wealthy only, you help a few people with housing & do nothing for thousands who cannot afford your silly inflated pricing. *** response noted, but not everyone can take advantage of 50% off sales as often there us no advertising for such. Why is it that other restores have such reasonable prices, we went the next day to Barrie & purchased 2 pieces, perhaps comparables to other stores can be done as they are experiencing the same "higher cost of doing business" as yourselves. All the best
