It was kind of a crazy idea way back in 1989 when Guitarworks first opened. A store with only… guitars? But several decades later, we have grown to 3 brick and mortar stores, all located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and all dedicated to all things guitar. If you are here, you are probably just like us. We are you and you are us. Guitar lovers and enthusiasts and nerds. Some of us play in bands. Some of us play alone. We all play.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been meaning to write this review for a month now .. This review was very nearly a complaint. I had a brief interaction with a Grey haired maybe 5'8 or 5'9 man who left me feeling disillusioned (and FRANKLY a little disrespected, he was looking a little South of my eyes - last people to look at these were my kids so we're talking WAY south ??) I came back a week later to try again to get advice on a starter guitar for my niece and... WOW what a difference!! I was met with a helpful man who was v. knowledgeable and made me feel like I was in the right place. Also may I say, if I was 20 years younger!!!!! (Ok closer to 30?) I would really recommend going in and asking for Chris vershigon (sorry I lost your card?!!) in guitar works if you want non judgemental advice - thanks - Brenda

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I walked in hoping to check out some t style guitars since I wanted to get my first electric guitar and was greeted by this old man who seemed very grumpy and when I asked him to help, he seemed very displeased to do anything other then roam the store and do nothing. Later in our conversation, I asked if the guitar came with an aging bag and he said no but we could do a bundle deal with a guitar case and amp. I said I was gonna get a amp second hand and this guy straight up told me to get a cheaper guitar and buy a 200$ amp “with a warranty” for the same price. I’ve walked in there many times looking at ukes and the guy is in he same mood every time. I honestly don’t know how this guy hasn’t been fired yet. He doesn’t have basic human manners and not even close to decent customer service.

I bought my first guitar back at the first location on 16th from Dave Temple... Somewhere around 88 or 89. I’m glad to see that the original feel of your store has carried over to your newer stores.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and daughter went to purchase a guitar tonight. She wants to take lessons and has be planning this trip with her dad for awhile. Neither of them know a lot about guitars. There were 2 people working and didn’t greet any of the customers. They ignored them the whole time and didn’t even say hello. They were there for 20mins found a great guitar and left without buying it. We will never purchase something from this store. Don’t waste your time and go somewhere else that is willing to at least say hello to an excited 8 year old hoping to buy her first guitar.

Great selection of high quality electric and acoustic guitars (Gretsch, Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker, Hofner and other models) other types of string instruments, as well as keyboards and electric drums. Purchased my Epiphone hollow body electric guitar here and Hofner Bass and amplifiers at a great price. The owner upgraded to an electric drum set purchased by me free of charge when when there was a manufacturer issue with a returned initial set I purchased. Lots of musical accessories also are available here. They provide lessons as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went in to change the guitar strings today. Mark was really helpful. Not only did he change the strings, he even lowered the bridge for me and oiled the guitar. All in about an hour. The guitar never sounded better! Awesome customer service!!
