★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I usually only come here when there are good deals going on (which is fairly often actually). I came to notice that the staff is super knowledgeable on all things English riding, but Western riding...not so much. I asked about their rug and headstall selection and they gave me a look like if I was an alien. (They have very few things that are western by the way...compared to their Calgary stores)
I get why though...Edmonton has a significantly larger English riding demographic. Oh well...I still find what I need usually anyways!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm putting a three as the first couple of times I went to the store was amazing! We live quite far and was new to horses and the staff were extremely helpful and nice. That was about a year or so ago. Went back a couple months ago twice and the service was horrible! Staff was blunt and not helpful, when I was concerned about the product as it was slightly damaged they almost attacked me, saying it was in perfect condition and if I don't like the products they offered I don't have to purchase them. As a 17 year old girl I just quickly bought my purchases (a $275 dressage bridle and numerous other items like soap and fly spray) and left the store with my head down and quite upset.
Never mind the fact that the situation made me so upset I didn't even feel welcome enough to finish my shopping. All 5 girls working just stood around the till while I paid not one talking to me or each other just staring at me while the one who rang me through seemed the nicest but that's not saying much. I used to beg my parents to take me to the store as it was like a kid in a candy shop kinda experience but now I dread going and have to force myself to go. I hope the service gets better because I love that store and it will always be my favourite horse store in Edmonton area. Those employees are doing a great disservice to the Greenhawk brand.

Not long ago they actually donated some silent auction items for a fundraiser for our riding club. I was so impressed.
They have a good selection online as well and when they have sales it’s a good time to get what you’re looking for.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very clean store, great environment with merchandise displayed in a way that makes it easy to see. The employees are very friendly and knowledgeable.
My only complaint is that there is a very, very small selection of western tack (I'm talking one little corner with a few bits, reins, head stalls, saddle pads, breast plates and a few other odds and ends). Their online store definitely has a bit more to offer but because the store itself is so small, and due to the Edmonton area riding demographic consisting of mostly english riders, it is understandable. That being said it's still frustrating when you enter the store with an exact item in mind then find out you'll have to order it in or settle for something else.
Overall you can't fault them on the selection as they are working with limited space and catering to the riders that frequent the store. I almost always walk out with something whether or not it was exactly what I was looking for or something very similar
