About Lammle's Western Wear & Tack

We're Home Grown and Family-Focused
Our story officially began in 1983, when Barry Lammle and his brother saw an opportunity in the retail market - which lead them to open the first 3 stores in their hometown of Calgary, Alberta. Their mission was simple: to address the real needs of everyday Albertans - those looking for a Western retail brand that provides better service, selection, and quality. As a result, Barry spent the next 39 years creating a lifestyle brand experience that welcomes people from all walks of life.

At that time, Barry’s focus was split between retail and ranching, which put him in an ideal position to learn firsthand what our future customers valued. A rancher first, but his retail experience and expertise has always been his true strength. His understanding of his customer’s needs, and his commitment to support local businesses and communities is what has helped Lammle’s become what it is today. We take pride in the fact that those who rely on us as their western clothing supplier are the same families, friends and neighbors we’ve stood beside through decades of good times and hard times alike — and our dedicated employees in our 23 stores across Western Canada wouldn’t dream of offering them anything but our very best.

Joice the manager in this store treats her staff terribly, and uprofessionally. She will yell and swear at her employees even in front of a customer. She does not value those that work for her in anyway and it shows in their performance. Her staff do the best job they can working under a person that refuses to value them for the efforts. Will not be supporting this store until a change is made.

I am retracting my "great" review of said store. Someone I know bought boots on sale, decided to take them back. The "manager" said they were worn outside, and all scuffed up and the outside was worn. They had been worn ion the store for a few seconds for fitting. and the tags were cut off. REALLY?!? You cut tags off a product if your buying something. For the record, this is a P.S.A. for anyone who wants to buy boots from that store. TAKE PICTURES OF WHAT YOU ARE BUYING!!!!!! Shame on you Lammle's I thought you were better than that. You've lost 2 customers who will be go elsewhere and get treated better by a manager.

Love this store!! My husband bought boots and then he took me to pick some out also. We found shirts we liked...our size was not in stock so they brought them in from another store! Great customer service!

I just talked to Joyce-ann. A fantastic amazing lady. Joyce-ann listened to my request and was able to help me by finding boots for my Granddaughter, who only will wear royal blue. Just a very amazing woman and so grateful to have her answer the phone for me this morning. I give 10 stars. Thank you Joyce-ann, you made me day

My purchase experience is too bad. One of sales person wants to give a coupon while the person doing the billing signs her not to (ignore sign). This is how you treat your repeat customers. Will I shop at this place again? I have my doubts and I would definitely not recommend to anyone who wants to feel valued and respected.

Regular customer, have spent a lot here. Went in last week and 2 staff were on. Tried on clothing, came out a couple times for more sizes, neither staff offered to assist me in any way (both saw me and they were doing nothing). No smile, no word. I bought several things anyway, but not a friendly store any longer! It has changed for the worse.

Oh my where do I begin. I was very excited to go and purchase my first pair of boots and chose Lammle's as the place to go since I had a gift card that I had gotten for Christmas. I went in on a slower day and the manager, Joyce greeted me asking if there was anything she could help me with. I explained I was interested in a very specific type of boot as I have wide feet and finding something that is comfortable can be difficult. The boots I had in mind were a size 9C, keep that in mind. As Joyce directed me to the boot section of the store I began to browse through the styles and found a pair that I loved! Joyce asked me what size fit me best or if I had ever been sized and I explained that the size that fits me the best is a 9C. Before I could finish my sentence she rudely cut me off and said "9C's don't exist", I tired explaining that I had tried on 9C boots before so I know for a fact they do exist and she once again cut me off. Joyce began talking down to me and making me feel like less of a person, she was saying things like "based on how you're dressed you wouldn't know much about western culture anyway" and "I'm the expert so I'm right, not you". I wasn't going to take these inappropriate comments so I continued to politely correct her and not stoop to her level of unprofessional language. I was so offended, disgusted, and taken back by her unbelievable language that I left the establishment. I sat in my car for a bit to gather myself after such a disgusting encounter and got the privilege to see the vehicle this so called "manager" drives as she took, what I am assuming was her break. After she left I went back into the store and made the purchase of my lovely 9B boots as they were a close fit and they did not have any 9C's which I found out through a different and very helpful employee. Even after my dreadful experience with the Lammle's manager in Grasslands Regina, Joyce, I wanted to use my gift card and was happy with my experience after being helped by the other employees. All the other employees in this store are phenomenal and they are the only redeeming quality of this business. They do their best to clean up the messes their boss makes and somehow make my experience worth it in the end. I do visit Lammle's once in a while but if I see Joyce's vehicle I leave. There is nothing that would make me go through another encounter with that so called manager.

Visiting this store left me with one of the worst retail experiences I have ever had. When we went in not too long ago we were greeted and at first thought that it was going to be a positive experience, however that quickly changed when the manager, Joyce β€œhelped” me and my wife. She was passive aggressive, judgemental, and overall very rude. She had limited knowledge of some of the products in the store and was quick to dismiss us and our questions. I expect a higher degree of customer service, or at least common decency from employees, especially the manager of a store. It would have been a much more positive experience if we would have been left alone to our devices even, but the way were treated is unacceptable. Would never shop here again and would not recommend it to anyone unless I knew that the manager was not working at the time.
