About Granary Road - Farmer's Market

The Active Learning Park at Granary Road is a family destination like none other in Canada. 3 Kilometers of winding trails connect 36 acres of active learning fun, and 11 Disney-caliber exhibits that teach kids about animals, insects and agriculture while they’re having fun! Designed to thrill the imaginations of toddlers to teens the park features a giant spider web climber, in-ground lily pad trampolines, a huge 4-story ant farm, a gigantic fruit tree with the world’s largest corkscrew apple slide, a blind-as-a-bat maze, zip-lines and a working farm/petting zoo featuring our famous goat stampede, the new Golden Goat Bridge and our adorable alpaca! Visitors will get an up-close look at your product offering as they weave through the market to buy tickets for the park and will see multiple vendor advertisements throughout the park and in the gift store. Plus, park visitors will receive rotating coupons for discounts to market vendors and other cross promotions to further drive park goers into the market. We strongly recommend that vendors include mom and family friendly products and price points in their assortments. This is going to be fun!

Granary Road was conceived and developed with the vision of assembling a mix of best-of-class vendors with both staple and unique offerings that complement one another and provide our guests a comprehensive and highly enjoyable shopping experience. In 2022, we believe in that vision more than ever. We’ve created a shopping experience with an upscale, yet friendly and charismatic ambiance that is like none other in Alberta. Located just minutes from Calgary proper the market building is styled after a Sonoma Valley vineyard and set in the rolling idyllic Foothills surrounded by horse ranches and far-reaching fields. The warm, rich wood interior with soaring vaulted ceilings features four 20’ doors that open to welcome families and friends into a marketplace unlike anything else. We’ve carefully hand selected an eclectic group of vendors that offer a great products at a fair price and understand the importance of a polished retail presentation, a warm smile and making our customers feel at home. We hope you’ll join us in making something truly special.

Great place to take your little ones or just head over to the market for goodies and lunch. There's lots of activities and themed parks to play and learn on. I would say the ideal kids age group for Granary Road is between 4 and 10. For the adults there's lots of good food, a local distillery booth, snacks, meals and more!

We were here on a weekend, on a cooler blustery day. Granary Road is an extremely popular spot, and the grounds are huge and the parking plentiful. What make this park attractive is the lack of pavement and commercialization; the area retains its natural beauty. With Covid19, one can still remain distanced outside while enjoying all that this attraction has to offer. The views are stellar - these alone make it a wonderful place to visit. Everyone can enjoy a day here as there is something for every age group and interest. For kids - the learning park offers many different activities, and each are themed. Zip lining here is very popular! Slides, climbing apparatus, ropes, trampolines, - the list goes on! There are shaded gazebo areas throughout the learning park, providing much needed shade on sunny days. There are plenty of perfect photography spots as well. The building housing the farmer's market is clean and huge, and every delicacy is for sale, including garlic, preserves, baking, brick oven baked pizza, crafts and much more. Eating areas are large and provide distancing between tables. Seasonal festivities take place and summer camps are hosted . Goat yoga is now offered as well! One can visit here many times and still experience something new. This is a superb place to visit!

Found this gem by accident, and am now buying a seasons pass. It was absolutely not what we expected and I mean that in the best possible way. There is so, so much to do and you can easily spend an entire day there without realizing how time is flying! On the weekends, the farmers market is open, which means tons of delicious options for lunch/snacking, and something to take home for dinner after. We spent the entire day going down slides, petting pigs, goats, bunnies, climbing, swinging, you name it. I’ve recommended it to everyone I know, with kids and without. It’s definitely a must see for anyone looking to enjoy a day outdoors and connect with your inner kid.

Very good place for kids to play and see animals. It could be better if they could keep up with the amount of visitors. in terms if keeping washrooms and water fountains clean and runing they definitly need more effort. Market itself is pricy place and food choices are very limited and way too expensive. A hotdog will cost you $9!!! A very regular burger $18.

I wasn’t prepared for dusty shoes. But, otherwise this is a well designed and operated facility. Well laid out and lots for kids to do. I’d have liked to get some food later in the day. But, understand they cannot staff until closing. All around a great place. I’ll remember my points above on our next trip out.

We came to the market to play mini golf and explore. It’s a great place for families! Mini golf was reasonably priced ($10 per person) and they’ve put a lot of effort into the course. It has a lot of neat little features where your ball goes inside a building or a pipe and ends up somewhere else. The only problem is that our balls got lost on a couple of holes. On one hole all four balls never came back - this seemed to be a known problem that hopefully they’ll fix over the winter. We had to stop our game and go get new balls - and we had to use a found ball on another hole to replace one that got lost. That’s why my review is 4 stars not 5. The market was really nice with lots of variety in vendors. We bought some fresh produce grown on the farm. Parking was plentiful and easy to access.

Very cool place! Just west of Calgary's SE with a HUGE outdoor adventure park for kids at a great price! I love the indoor market with unique vendors and great food. I got a delicious bottle of wine and some delicious pocket pies from MaPies. We headed to the greenhouse after. What a lovely day!
