★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been training Brazilian Jiujitsu for about five to six years before I joined Gracie Barra New Westminster. The quality of the lessons are amazing and the instructors are extremely technical. The atmosphere at the BJJ gym is welcoming and Professor Raz is meticulous in making sure the students are getting the most out of training there.
Definitely recommend the gym to anyone who wants to learn or continue learning about martial arts/ self defense.

You could feel the success of his moves working during the live rolling. The top quality teachings that Raz provides would benefit anyone in Jiu Jitsu, older or younger. Can't wait till the next one.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Being in my late 40’s I must admit that I was a little hesitant to start BJJ later in life as the thought of injury and the impact it could have on my work and family life always crossed my mind. After about a month into training those fears were eliminated. I always feel very safe practicing BJJ at Gracie Barra New West as Professor Raz has the necessary safeguards in place to mitigate the potential risks of injury. I find BJJ to be an excellent workout as my cardio, strength, flexibility are constantly being pushed and I leave every class covered in sweat. There are classes available everyday of the week at convenient times so that helps to ensure that I can consistently fit BJJ into my always changing schedule. Professor Raz, the entire coaching staff and all of the students at Gracie Barra New West have come together to create a welcoming environment to make BJJ work for everyone from all walks of life. Thank you Professor Raz and everyone at Gracie Barra New West for making this such a great place to be a part of.

This gym provides a friendly atmosphere and full with awesome people willing to help each other. Professor Raz’s approach to teaching is highly technical and practical. I can definitely see myself getting stronger physically and mentally in just 3 months of training. 100% recommended to anyone who is interested in learning Jiu Jitsu.

Professor Raz has immense knowledge and is a fantastic instructor. I would recommend this gym to anyone interested in learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I am 45 and just getting into this sport. This is a friendly environment for what might be considered an older athlete in this context.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hands down the best martial arts I could have enrolled my kid in. Here he learns so much more than the sport itself. We have been attending this gym for over 2 years. Through the pandemic they offered online classes at a discounted rate for the kids. My kid has learned respect , antibullying and self defense. Here we are part of a family . The professors are amazing with the kids. All of them. Highly recommend this location .

Super friendly environment but be ready for the workout of your life the competition is sky high and the skill level of everyone at the gym is through the roof lots of top tournament guys at the gym all the time but don’t worry everyone teaches everyone. Professor raz and professor don are awesome. Really great to learn from two legends of the sport and have a laugh with aswell
