About Ginger Beef Bistro House

Calgary-style ginger beef is our signature dish. Our head chef, Stanley Leung, blends memories of the past with the taste of the present to create this tantalizing entrée. This western take on a northern Chinese dish consists of sliced beef, ginger, and green onions. It’s so popular that we named our restaurant after it!

In addition to this popular course, we serve a variety of other flavorful dishes, including mouth-watering appetizers, savoury soups, and enticing entrées. We have put our own western spin on many traditional Chinese dishes in order to appeal to the appetites of the people of Calgary. With Chinese takeout, delivery, and dine-in options, Ginger Beef Bistro House is right for any occasion.

All the staff were amazing and very friendly, our server even went to find someone who is fluent in Vietnamese who could better help us choose from the menu options, and both ladies took care of us very well. The 3-course Peking duck (with Chow Mein noodles and duck soup) was very tasty, came with a lot of food, and was on special for a great price for the amount that you get.

Went with the family for their three course Peking duck special. Food was pretty standard, though I really found myself enjoying three dishes The first is their hot and sour soup as a hot soup is very enjoyable on a cold day. The second is their black sesame mochi, a sticky ball filled with a black sesame paste and coated with some sort of nut. The third is their tapioca dessert, a nice sweet and creamy soup with some clear tapioca balls.

The food here is seasoned well and they have a good dimsum selection and great a la carte menu options. Nice decor and a friendly welcome at the entrance. Sometimes service is slow for what I’m used to at a Chinese restaurant but the servers are friendly! They also have ready made/ frozen items and meals for take home (dumplings, etc.) Will be back for the convenience of the location and how well the food suited my liking ??✨ NOTE: a 10% gratuity is included regardless of how big your party is.

If I could rate no stars I would, as the Treasures of China Buffet has better food than this place. We paid 170 dollars for our order and they missed 3 dishes. We were still hungry the 5 of us....lol never again

Impressive! I wasn’t sure going back to my old hood… But as soon as I walked in the door, I am so impressed that it felt like a restaurant vibe you would see in Vancouver. The humbled and proud owner, James, spoke unrushed with us amidst the busy restaurant and I just realized I’ve been ordering them through Skip! ❤️ For the Love of GOOD FOOD!! Delicious!!

This review only applies to Dim Sum. The food is actually decent. Service is acceptable. Prices have increased quite a bit recently. My issue is with the non-optional 10% gratuity (regardless of party size) that was recently implemented on top of increased prices for all items. This 10% mandatory 'gratuity' is simply a sitting fee to enter the establishment. A tip should reflect the quality of service and product and be an option. The menu was changed so that each dish is categorized into sizes ranging from extra large to extra small, with an accompanying price to reflect the 'size' of the dish. Almost all the items were changed to a 'large' or 'extra large' despite not actually changing in serving size. The combined dishonesty from the sitting fee and the price increase has left a sour aftertaste, despite the food being quite agreeable. Most unfortunate.

First of all, we noticed the decor was very nice inside. Feels like a fancy restaurant. Hubby and I had the lunch special. $14.95 each. Sooooo much food!!! Couldn't finish it all. Comes with a spring roll, wonton or hot and sour soup, chicken fried rice and choice of two entree items. I added the pan fried shrimp and cashews with the pineapple and sweet & sour pork. Hubby picked ginger beef and the sweek & sour pork. It was delicious and reasonably priced. They do add 10% to the bill for tipping because they say a lot of people leave without tipping. Service was excellent. They deserve more than 10%. They even have a frozen selection at the front of the restaurant if you want to make it at home. Highly recommend.
