About Lola's Filipino Kitchen

Our family moved to Calgary from the Philippines in December 1986. With 3 young daughters ages 5, 3 and 1 - we came to Canada with the dream of building a life for us where we didn't have to struggle anymore and could offer our children more opportunities to thrive than we could ever provide back home.

Like most immigrants, we started with the very basics and lived with relatives for the first 5 years and took any part-time or contract jobs we could to make ends meet. Thankfully, with the support of our siblings, in-laws and parents - we were able to settle into our life here in Calgary and became Canadian citizens 6 years after arriving!

In the Filipino culture, food is more than just a meal. Our cuisine is made for sharing, socializing and entertaining. Our family prides itself on using quality ingredients without sacrificing authenticity and flavor.

Our take-out menu is ideal for picking up lunch on the go, grabbing dinner for the family when you don't have time to cook or, just need to satisfy that pancit or chicken adobo craving!

I had a bad and unwelcoming experience here, a couple of people working there (or could have been the owner) seem so arrogant like it’s a sin to ask questions. If that’s the case, then post a sign so people know to just shut their mouth and be quiet while inside.

Unexpectedly found this absolute gem in the heart of NE Calgary. After asking what was good for take out on my first visit. I was recommended a lunch box. For a very fair price. Totally hit the spot. I will definitely be back for more again. Such an amazing gift to be blessed with on a exhausting day of changing homes. Made the hard work worth the wild.

This is the best philipino food in all Canada , I used to come for lunch every single weekday. BBQ pork skewers and adobo ❀❀ Mama was always in the back cooking up classics ? I moved nearly 10 years ago to Toronto , nothing out here even comes close to the authentic fresh prepared food of Lola's. I miss you guys and your killer recipes ?? Hope to see you soon , dont forget me ??? EDIT: Many years later I have returned again , so happy to see Lola's has survived covid , the inside has been beautifully renovated and the food remains the same , amazing . 10/10 Thanks for the amazing service as usual ??

Delicious pork, both sizzling and grilled, tasted authentic. The desserts are nice and big, we had the flan and the halo halo and the lumpia, all delicious.

Homestyle traditional Filipino cuisine. I was introduced to this small mom and pop shop by a former associate of mine years ago. Since then, I've been back here and there when I have a craving for Filipino cuisine. Must say, never have I been disappointed although I haven't tried everything due to me not being in brave enough in some instances. Food is delicious, fresh and full of flavour. The people are the best part. Super friendly, kind, and open to teaching you what is what. Appreciate the education in the different cuisines. Store itself is super clean, well setup, organized. You can see right into the back kitchen and it is spotless.

This was my go to spot when TELUS used to be down the street, The lunch box is affordable and they have a good selection. For a Newbie to the Filipino food the staff is always very knowledgeable and take the time to explain what every dish is. For a quick lunch this is a great place to go. Oh and the new dΓ©cor is amazing. when I first went it was just a basic little shop. Now it has a modern and fantastic new look !!!
