Furnace Family is a local heating and cooling company specializing in residential furnace replacement, service, air conditioning, indoor air quality, and water heaters both standard and tankless. We aren’t the kind of company that will only do new homes or commercial jobs. We specialize in one thing: Residential family homes. The head of the Family, Dareck Makowski, has been in business in Edmonton with different ventures since 2001. When Furnace Family started many of his previous employees wanted to be part of Furnace Family. That doesn’t happen a lot these days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My experience from beginning-to-end with Furnace Family was fantastic! Back in November, I had Dave L. come in for a quote for central A/C. He explained my options and gave his advice for my situation. My floor drain was not accessible unless it involved a lot of destructive cutting, but he thought of an option the other quoting companies didn't to use a pump to go over the ceiling to use my washer drain instead. He also explained the history behind Furnace Family while doing the paperwork, and I just had a sense of comfort when dealing with him.
I decided to defer the installation to the warmer temperatures of springtime, as I honestly would have felt sorry for the techs having to do work in the wintertime (yes, I know they work all year round!) Richard & Yanick came last Friday to do the installation. They were ahead of schedule, and even finished earlier than expected in the 4-hour window, working independently the whole time. They were both friendly and funny and Richard explained how my new system would work at the end, as well as some tips for how to make it work better with my humidifier I had installed.
David G., the electrician, then came quickly after and finished the job. He was also friendly and funny. Everything was done very cleanly, but also efficiently. Everything I needed to do after was explained to me.
It was good reviews that lead me towards choosing Furnace Family, and here's another great one to throw onto the pile! Good job you guys!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Furnace Family was referred to me by a friend and I used them for the first time to have my furnace serviced. Firstly, Connor was on time and he was very pleasant. I love how detailed/thorough he was. I am a first time home owner who did not have much knowledge on how these appliances work nor how to maintain them. i was very impressed with Connor who took the time to answer my many questions, explain and made sure that I understood his findings. He even provided me with preventive care tips (maintenance) which was not only financially beneficial to me but could possibly prolong the life span of my major appliances. I had no regrets-I would definitely recommend them and I will certainly use their services again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently got a new hot water tank, furnace and ducting installed by the Furnace Family. The furnace failed inspection over 2 weeks ago. I have not heard anything from the company as to when the issues would be resolved. I have attempted to contact them myself and not had my calls returned.
Prior to the failed inspection, the installers also left two 3" trial and error holes on the side of my house that I was left to find after they had left. It took numerous weeks to have these holes repaired. You'll wait on hold with this company to hear about integrity and customer service, however, it is evident that they lack on both fronts. Hopefully, this review results in returned phone calls and a furnace that will pass inspection.

I was a little worried about having exposed piping but the installation is superb. Very clean and non invasive.
Communication with Dave the electrician, who arrived later in the day was also great. His work was also very clean and tidy.
All covid protocols were followed and I have no complaints whatsoever.
Highly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We hired Furnace Family to install a new furnace, A/C and humidifier. Mike and Matt arrived on time and worked straight through the day to ensure installation was complete. They covered my flooring and carpet to protect it (it was a snowy -25 on the day of the install). Both the sales and installation were handled very professionally. Matt and Mike were very professional, and ensured everything was cleaned up at the end of the day. Mike walked my through the equipment and the thermostat and explained the install, workings and servicing process. We could easily recommend these folks to others.

Furnace Family provided the best price and warranty I could find. Ross was our sales representative who was very professional and knowledgeable who took the time to go through everything. He was a really good guy who, you could tell, loved his job and the company he was representing. The installation technicians were equally professional and made sure to communicate and modify their game to ensure I would be satisfied with the placement of everything.
