I was never a person who made time for exercise but I wanted to make a change and decided to reach out to John. I have a pretty hectic schedule and it can be quite challenging to have a set routine for workouts. With John, I was received personalized workout plans through the fitness app - which also provides videos for each exercise, making it easy to learn on my own. This has been extremely helpful as it allows me to do the exercises in my condo's gym. John has been very attentive and provides valuable feedback regularly, which has been both helpful, motivating, and has kept me accountable. Over the past 6 months which I have started these exercises, I have become more confident in the gym, have felt much stronger, and am eager to continue with my plan. Thanks, John!

John is an amazing trainer. He always encouraged me and told me I could do anything I wanted. His 8 week training plan was the best thing I could have ever done. It gave me the incentive to start working out and keeping fit. John developed a custom workout plan for me which was great, as I now had a workout built for my needs/goals along with a meal plan to achieve those goals. It was nice as I could go to the gym and work out on my own and John was there to guide me and encouraged me along the way. I had reservations about the meal plan at first, but after John's thorough explanation I realized I don't have to count calories or points and it is very easy to follow. The plan caters to my specific needs and I've got great results with it. I feel better and more energized! All of John's training and meal plans are geared to the individual. It is not a cookie cutter training or eating plan. It's made for you and you alone. John is a friendly and a go getter. He will push you to your limits and assure you that you can do it. He teaches you the proper way to exercise. He puts his clients first and make sure that he addresses all of their needs. I would recommend John anytime.

When the Covid shutdown hit I was overweight, out of shape and turning 50. I knew that if I was going to "get up" instead of "give up", it was time to make some big changes. John’s online training system seemed like a great affordable option and I decided to try it out. Best decision ever! John designed an individualized plan to address my goals, work around some areas of injury and had me set up and ready to go. I love the online app! It keeps me accountable for doing the workouts and motivates me to improve on my previous performance. Plus, John monitors my workouts through the app, makes adjustments and gives feedback and lots of encouragement. Adding in-person training sessions with John has accelerated my progress even more. He continues to show me that I'm capable of much more than I think I am and has given me the confidence to push myself way harder at home. With John's coaching and encouragement, my home workouts have already advanced FAR beyond what I thought was possible for me. I'm thrilled to say that I've exceeded my weight loss goal (25lbs- yeah!) and can't believe how quickly I've gained strength, muscle definition and better mobility. John's knowledge and expertise in health and fitness is invaluable. He'll teach you the concepts, work with you to get the results you want and celebrate your successes along the way. All with an easygoing style and a great sense of humour. Training with John towards better fitness at 50 has been the best thing I’ve done for myself in years! Thanks John!

I have enjoyed strength training with John. My main concern has been to build strength carefully so as to avoid any injury; I found his approach to be safe, methodical, attentive, patient and encouraging. A good trainer and good guy.

I've been training with John G. on and off for over 5 years now. We've worked on building up my strength, improving my nutrition and losing weight. Most recently, I began experiencing severe pain in my (flat)feet due to being so sedentary over COVID. Through exercise and advice John was able to help me restore my lower body strength and get back to a place where I can freely walk and be mobile again. Best of all, he's super supportive, completely without judgement and he keeps me accountable. He's basically a body mechanic and if there's something bothering you he'll know how to fix it. Can't recommend his services enough.

Over the years I have had many trainers, bouncing from trainer to trainer, until I started working out with John Galbraith of Free Fitness and Health 2007. What started out as training for fitness when I was in my 50’s has morphed to include therapy for a bad knee, that at times has left me unable to walk and often bedridden. With John’s help and expertise, these episodes are far less frequent, recovery is faster, and my gait, endurance and confidence have improved. On my last vacation in Paris, I was walking between 8 to 12 kilometers a day! Not bad for a 69-year-old woman! John has a commitment to my health and well-being and the skills to get me where I need to be. During the pandemic, when gyms were closed, John found options – we worked out at a park and a private studio so that I got the consistent workout I needed to keep my walking from degenerating. He knows how to motivate me, knows my limits and how to take me beyond them so that I improve. From fitness, to nutrition, to physical therapy, John Galbraith is a trainer for all the stages of your life and health. Those other trainers? They’re long gone.
