His only fault is that he is very trusting and looks for the best in people, and has perhaps misplaced that trust in people that have taken advantage of it, to the detriment of his business and reputation. He is working very hard to rebuild the confidence from his clients, and ensure that each job is completed to the higher standards that he has set, and his clients expect.
s	steve robertson on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was provided an estimate of $4500 to get a room drywalled in a room prepped and ready. The first 2 days were great and then they disappeared. The work was not complete and wanted payment. I was sent a bill for over $9000 which I refused to pay. They came back and still did not finish the work. I ended up doing the finishing myself and the final product looks like something a home owner would have done rather than a professional. I ended up paying $7000 which was still overpriced but I was so fed up I just wanted this organization out of my life. I've worked with a number of contractors over the years and this one was easily the worst. Steer clear!

I really struggled for the past few months on whether to post a review or not, but after months of his clients reaching out to me because he/and his company have completely ignored them, leaving them in financial ruin. I can't in my right mind not say anything and have more people fall into his trap, so consider this a public service announcement!!! I really wish I could go into more detail to let everyone know so they can avoid Steven Foord and Foord Construction like the plague, but would hate to jeopardize the multiple lawsuits I have ongoing against them. I am by no means a disgruntled ex-employee, I just want to see this company and its owner stand behind the things they promise to clients and employees and to be held accountable for their poor business practices.
S	Sarah B on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Similar experiences to so many others here. Work started and demo completed then staff were laid off. Steven promised that job was on track and would be finished. A month later no work done, refusal to provide invoices, refused to provide budget or drawings (that were paid for). As if that weren't bad enough, then we learned permits were required for the job when we were told by company that they weren't. Left job at demo stage despite being paid for whole phase of project and then sent an inflated and falsified bill that he would "forgive" if no negative review given. We also had a written contract and he just ignored every part of it. Save your self the stress. You will end up managing the project on your own and throwing your money away- Guys like this are why Mike Holmes exist. DO NOT HIRE!
K	Kathryn Tang on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible management but good builders. The work done was good, but horrible experiences with management means we won't be working with Foord again. Started off great however throughout the process there was tons of miscommunication, promises not met. There were random requests for money with no explanation, duplicate bills coming in for work that was already paid for, and super inflated bills with no description that shocked subcontractors when they found out how much surcharge was being added for project (mis)management. We were excited at first when Steven took over the project to get it back on track. However, later on Steven aggressively pushed us to pay beyond the total estimated cost of a project before completion of work, which is both extremely unprofessional but also not aligned with our prior agreements.

Most fast contractors don't offer quality work simultaneously, but they were not only fast, but also did high quality work and we are very impressed! My wife read the reviews here and was surprised by the comments, I guess some people just don't know how to navigate their projects and communicate with contractors, not sure what all the negativity is about as we had nothing but a positive experience with these guys. Highly recommending and giving 5/5 for performance and professionalism

We had referred them to a couple friends previously, after having Steven to our place on Saturna last summer to build a pergola for our garden, and our friends were also super happy with their finished project. Sometimes communication with management was difficult as they are very busy, but I did appreciate their team doing their best given the circumstances, and they always got in touch within a couple of days.
