Today at 3:30p.m. I went to your bank to pay two bills. Upon arrival, there were two tellers open. There were 4 people in front of me. Three bank employees (including the one teller) were all waiting on a little old lady at one of the wickets. The line grew larger by the minute. Eventually the 2nd teller became available (kind of) because when the next person in line went to the wicket the teller announced her computer had gone down and she was now NOT available to help anyone. After 15 minutes, I was still waiting in line and three people behind me eventually left - very unhappy and certainly dissatisfied with the lack of customer service we were being given. Eventually I too left, not having paid my bills and after voicing my concern with someone who "appeared" to be the bank manager, who by the way did nothing to help or rectify the situation despite being aware of the line up of people. Needless to say, I am a very unhappy and am considering taking my business elsewhere! One very DISGRUNTLED customer!

If I could submit no stars I would. The Barton street branch in Hamilton has got to be the most inefficient place I have ever dealt with in my life. They say no fee banking but ding you for anything at every turn. And if you ever have a problem they are so incompetent no one will deal with it even when you need help to fix it . The manager Nik Katic is the only person who can do anything there and only when he feels like it

Busiest first Ontario in Hamilton, its always long wait. The ATM and Pat are quicker than the tellers 7 days a week. Management has given me the best customer service I've ever had with a bank. Skip the teller or find a new branch if your impatient like me.

I would like to add that I too am frustrated with the ATM being closed at 8pm BUT I thank First Ontario Credit Union for thinking of it's customers safety! The reason for the door being locked is the area is unsafe at night, weather or not you want to admit it. Maybe there could have been a bit more communication of it but either way it's for "our" safety as customers being out at night in a less than desirable area with $$ in hand! I was a customer of one of the big banks (right across the parking lot) for more than 20 years and if anyone one thinks First Ontario has a lot of "hidden" charges think again! If you want to pay another financial institution a hundred and fifty dollars a year to do the exact same thing that First Ontario does for free by all means go ahead, you're probably not the right fit for any credit union anyway. Yes, sometimes there is a few people in line but I've also seen the other place "across the parking lot" with 20 plus in line and I have literally walked up to a teller at First Ontario. The odd, very odd time I have to wait in a one or two person line is well worth the more personal service, better interest rates and no fee chequing accounts, thank you. Of course this is just my humble but frugal opinion.

will be closing my account . What happened to first ontario?? Call center never answers the phone or doesnt work half the time, opening a mortgage with them was the worst experience and paying the mortgage off was even worse as they greedily squeezed thousands in fees. Last straw was calling the branch to have them do a service (which is their job and the call center never answers the phone) and i got rude comments from tellers.

The branch manager Nick treats people of color like they are thieves and lies about company policy. I brought in a bank draft and they would not accept I have never had any fraudulent activity on my account. This is the second incident I have had with Nick. I have been a member for over 15 years and have never had any issues only with NICK

Tried opening a small business account, after submitting the application and a bit of bank and forth the advisor has fallen off the face of the earth. She never got back to me and never gave me contact information to reach out to her. Update: called the number below, left a message and never received a response. Worst customer service I’ve experienced.
