Have been having my hair cut at this location ever since they opened and have always been very happy with the service they offer. I find Sofie the shop manager ( who is Vietnamese ) to be down to earth and one who will "tell it like it is``

Kim Mc is fantastic! She listened to what I wanted, steered me towards a haircut that matched what I wanted to accomplish and was so very friendly. I would recommend her any day ?

Kim has cut my hair for years, she's professional and has always done a great job. I don't think the reviews for first choice reflect Kim's care and expertise.

I was not surprised to see the comments here about being insulted. It's why I came to write a review. Although I felt the job they did was great and fairly professional, especially for the amazingly low price tag, a few of the staff here are very incompetent in how they treat customers. I phoned for a walk in on a Sunday asking if they could do a bleach and a cut, again; for walk in. The lady said yes. I said if be ther in 15. I got there, walked up to the front, was asked my name and demanded rather rudely to sit down, without being asked what I wanted to get done. I sat there for twenty minutes, was called to the front and she asked me what I was getting done and I told her and she said you should have told me that when I asked you I said first of all you never asked me anything. She assumed because I was male even though I have been coming there for five years all I wanted was a cut, when everytime I come to always get a dye done. She tried to downplay me it was super rude. Second I even called and when I told her that, she gave me this attitude while telling me that only two people were working in the salon after I kindly told her it sounded like the Asian lady. She asked the other girl and the girl almost lied and said I didn't call. Then basically said she couldn't do it that it would take too much time I said fine no problem even after all that attitude she gave me. I came in got the bleaching and cut done the next day it all turned out fabulous but as far as personal relations go the Asian lady Sophie was very mean to me. She was bossing me around telling me what me what to do she wasn't understanding some of the things I was telling I was soooo nice and patient with her. She was very rude I tried so hard I be nice if her I even left her a 25 dollar tip. She called me to touch up some white patches I had on within a couple days which was great and I came in good got it done. Again great job but she insulted me said to me "so you did nothing today?" I almost lost it. I paused and said "sorry?" To allow her to reword that comment. She said "just sit and home?" I just Ignored her. So rude! Again she had left a patch of white in my hair and I wanted it covered up after we got it covered up she made this comment about trying to explain to me "in my guy head" why she couldn't do i yesterday like first of all lady I did nothing but agree with you when you said it was too much bleach. I was One Telling her that I didn't wan toner applied in the same day becaue It was too much bleach at once the first time I saw her. Basically, tons of sexism, although I'm 24 because I look young they talked to me like a child. Even though I have come there more then once over the last five years while I was presenting as a women. I dressed and presented female for five years as transgener although I'm no longer physically transitioning I still identify as female mentally and the only thing different about me now vs the other times was my clothing so honestly 100% sexism at its finest. Way to make me feel like a valued customer. Any1 else would have walked out the only reason I didn't was the price. Aweful experience.

The orientalish lady insulted me 4 different times basically saying I didn't wash my hair and it was sticky, it was washed 2 hours before I got there it was damp and had product it. My hair is also bleached and said I didn't brush my hair very well, after the fact she washed it. How many people with bleached hair wash it and get perfectly untangled hair. Not only was I Insulted she cut off way more than I wanted because it was damaged. Yes it's damaged but I am the customer and that's how much I wanted. And she used 2 spurts of detangler on one small section of my hair that was all the product for my hair, she then proceeded to blow dry my hair without thermal protection and sandwich in my hair between the brush and hairdryer making it frizzy, u never blow-dry or flatiron without thermal protection especially when the hair is already chemically damaged. I am so unhappy.

Should have read the reviews of this place before I went. I went in for a split end trim. Didn't get a good look at it until I got home and it's awful. Crooked, messy and the lady took off almost twice as much as I wanted. She also talked a little too personally about her family the whole time. I definitely felt like she was just putting in time and couldn't have care less about how the cut turned out. Oh and it cost $20 for a crappie 10 minute haircut. Don't go here

Took my step son there for a cut. Lady started cutting and then said "I cannot work with this, can I shampoo him?" I asked if it was extra and she said yes. She saw I already paid and said rather rudely "oh you paid already." Then she looked at the bill and said to the girl "what did you charge her for?" then she looked and said disgustedly "oh you had a coupon." She tells my step-son that she needed to take him back to the sink anyway. I find out after we left that she told him (out of my ear shot) that she told him that he needs to take a shower and wash his hair next time before he comes. He told her he showered the night before but that apparently was not good enough. Looked at the cut in better lighting and there are places she missed and hair sticking out in pieces.

I have been a customer of First Choice for approximately 18 years. The stylists are very nice, professional and have updated skills. It is also fairly easy to get an appointment with short notice. I was just in for a haircut and I was impressed with their Covid-19 practices. Sophie and the girls are great!!
