Sam and Abbie are are excellent hosts! They gave us lots of trip options that they scouted beforehand, and a full rundown of the setup before letting us head off. The truck is completely set up for backroad exploring with the family, including the 1 year-old!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Phenomenal experience! The truck and gear were great and the tent (Tepui) is excellent. Easy setup. Got lots of compliments from other campers on our trip. Stayed dry in a thunderstorm. Customer service was top notch and communication was on point; can’t recommend enough if you’re looking for an overland experience in BC.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I spent 8days exploring Vancouver Island with Far Out WIlderness. Hands down this was one of the best experiences either of us have had visiting BC.
Both have been on several trips to the western side of the country and generally travel off the beaten path, but the access we gained by choosing to rent form F.O.W. was like nothing we've had before.
Starting from our first inquiry to reluctantly handing the keys back, the service was incredible. The team spent the time to talk to us and get a sense of what we wanted and helped...(did it all)... plan a perfect itinerary.
The knowledge shared with us on interesting spots to see and routes to take was spot on.
The vehicle (Lucy) was impeccable as well as the equipment supplied. Pricing was on par with a standard rental that would not have the access capability nor the customer service we received.
Without rambling on and on, which I could, I can say this;
If you chose Far Out Wilderness for your next trip you will NOT be disappointed.
Top tier service from top to bottom. I will for sure be a returning customer and always be preaching the good word for this company.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great way to explore Vancouver Island. The truck has a great setup with everything you could need for camping. We loved the rooftop tent - Sam gave us a demo of how it worked when we picked the truck up and we had the tent set up in less than ten minutes. The tent and truck are really comfortable and as the package includes recovery and a GPS locator it feels safe to travel in remote areas. The company are very quick to respond to questions and to help with anything we needed, even offering custom itineraries. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A great way to explore Carmanah/Walbran Provincial Park. Driving in Roxanne, I was able to go off the beaten track and enjoy two days of spectacular scenery. After a brilliant day's hiking, I was able to set up camp outside the park in a remote spot with stunning views over the top of the forest to the ocean. The vehicle was equipped with absolutely everything I needed and the rooftop tent was so easy to set up that I was sitting down with that first cold beer within less than ten minutes. I highly recommend this experience on Vancouver Island.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We first explored Vancouver in September in Roxanne, and loved it so much we came back at the end of October for more! The truck is so well equipped that once we loaded the fridge with groceries we were able to get out and explore the back country for days. We couldn't believe how few people were out enjoying BC's beauty, it was like we had our own private lakes and campgrounds, as the Rec Sites we stayed at had no one else there (and they were all free!) Since it was our second trip, Sam arranged contactless pickup at the airport in Abbotsford and we were ready to roll the minute our plane touched down. Camped in a different location every night, and tent setup and takedown took less than five minutes, great design. I highly recommend Far Out Wilderness, from the beginning Sam made everything easy, provided all the information we needed and responded quickly to any questions we had. The truck is equipped with quality camping equipment and took us to some incredible areas. We are already dreaming of coming back!

This rental service is incredible!
My husband and I just returned from a trip to Vancouver Island and we LOVED this vehicle rental!! The tent was quality, never leaking even once despite the days of rain we had.
The kitchen was well stocked with a french press coffee maker, pots, pans, a griddle pan and cutlery. There was even a solar shower bag that they included in case you don't plan on staying at campgrounds with showers.
Sam was easy to get a hold of and provided so much information to assist us with our adventures.
There were a series of back road map books that helped us significantly when looking for rec sites, Provincial Parks and points of interest.
I highly recommend this rental service!
