★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Escape Route is one of the best stores in Whistler for hiking/skiing and mountaineering equipment. They have a great selection of gear and quality technical clothing. The employees are all professional and can provide sound input on gear and beta on local trails. It is a bit of a smaller space so you can't expect a MEC/REI selection, but they do have the necessities and more. I recently bought some seam grip glue to reattach the seams on my waterproof arcteryx pants.
Escape route is located near the post office at the marketplace area and as a bonus there is free 15 minute storefront parking directly in front (1 hour free in the main lot if you registar). They have another storefront near the Keg where they have additional gear and services.

Everyone on in the store that I interacted with was friendly and very helpful. Thanks to Larry, Dana, Antoine and Chris for advising on and fitting the gear. It should be the go to store in Whistler for ski touring equipment.

Excellent variety. Excellent service and advice. I purchased new alpine touring boots this week and was especially impressed with Antoine. Courteous. Communicative. Incredible product knowledge. Superb boot moulding/boot fitting experience. I highly recommend Antoine for anyone seeking ski touring boot advice and assistance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ these guys are the best ski techs i have ever had the pleasure of dealing with in the entire 40+ plus years of skiing. I had a new monoski made in France , and trying to find someone with the confidence to mount bindings on it was all but impossible. More importantly the end result was beyond perfection. Not a millimetre off and not a scratch on the ski when they were done. More expensive than some I'm sure, but if you are looking for the very best in ski techs and less about the cost these guys are unmatched, period.
Thanks again Larry for being so patient and making an exception for me to be able to wait instead of making a 2 trips to whistler to finish the job!!
