I’m sorry to see that it seems to be a common problem for Walmart/DuoBank to scam seniors. Very similar problem where Walmart refused to help with a fraudulent charge. “It’s not our problem” Walmart said. When the company that placed the charge finally returned the debit Walmart charged $50 in interest reducing the credit by $50. Then Walmart let $120 sit on an unused card for two years, they refused to close the card, and refused to return credit. Then they closed the card sent a fake bill saying they refunded the money, but never sent the money back. Have gone to the Ontario Ombudsman and now approaching a lawyer. I see in here a few people complaining about their parents getting money stolen by this company. Maybe it will be a group endeavour!

I can share with the public my experience. They sent me a card, I brought 300 dollar's worth of merchandise, and then they blocked the card saying they needed information they already had multiple time, the call center is not anywhere near Canada, and the English spoken by the CSR's is functional, they have learned to regurgitate the same line over and over. This is beyond security, it's called harassment. The fact that DUO bank acquired predatory consumer lender Fairstone should tell you all you need to know, stay away from Walmart, if you love Canada support Canadian Tire, or Super Store, stay away from Walmart. And calling customer service just puts you on a merry go round, you get no-where, I will only deal with companies that are Canadian from now on, these new foreign companies do not have the spirit of Canada, they see it as a big money pit.

A bank tied to Walmart to money from people. The customer care will confirm the address is correct when you report card not arrive. And again try to send the card but will not arrive. There will be always a purchase once you take card from Walmart. Once you ask them for statement then also they will say address is right. But when you call back for non receipt of statement then will say it’s wrong address. They give option to go to Walmart and fax the utility bills which is non existent in Walmart. They also make you pay interest. This is total scam to make money from people in the name of interest without even sending the card. Also when you call customer care they will inform without account number there is no option of payment. I had to call 5 times and got a representative who provided a check option. I don’t even know if that even works such is their responses. Never ever get a card from Walmart from this bank. Please don’t make people pay for your inefficiency. Such a shame !

My WalMart Master Card was hacked. They reversed the fraudulent charges but then added one back. The $100 charge was by someone from Azerbaijan ! Multiple conversations have not resolved the issue, even after I cancelled my card. They just keep hounding me on the phone and keep showing me as not paying my balance. Have caused my credit rating to crash by more than 100 points so far and the drop is continuing. To resolve the issue I offered to pay the balance to a charity of there choice but they want the money themselves. I refuse to give in to blackmail.

Joining the droves of people complaining of some form of fraud. Signed up for a home equity credit card that was backed by Duo Bank. The day of closing my credit card with another bank is used for fraudulant transactions in another country, and I start receiving 10 calls a day from scam phone numbers. New ones each time so blocking doesn't help. Hasn't stopped. It's so bad I'm thinking of changing phone numbers from the one I've had for 15 years. I have a hard time seeing this incident as a coincidence considering all the reviews below. UPDATE: Trying to switch mortgages and they are not providing a payout statement to my lawyer in a reasonable period of time, putting my deal in jeopardy. Never deal with them.

I will be shutting my Walmart Mastercard and will NEVER return to a walmart store or online. A sad bunch of clowns at the Walmart Mastercard call centre. Thank Duo Bank for all the useless runaround and turning away clients.

The reason why I gave a 1 star is due to my frustration with the new Walmart MC Website. It took away some reliable and convenient features that the prior Walmart MC website had. Plus, not know who I could contact to address the changes made to the site? I called Walmart Customer Service, and they could not help me and said to contact Walmart's MasterCard. I contacted Walmart MC, and they could not help me. I messaged Walmart's MasterCard's Secured Correspondence and got nowhere. One Fine Day, I decided to read all of the fine print that comes with your statement. On there, I found that Duo Bank takes care of the MC's website. I am sorry I talked about the frustrations I went through to get here. Someone at Walmart should have known this and provided me with Duo's information? I emailed Duo a few months ago, and I was glad when they responded, saying they take care of the website. I am a customer who is pleading for changes to the site bc I use it quite often and I deal with frustration with some features no longer available. The prior MC website ALWAYS had on the left-hand side column, the following info that we could see at all times: Current Balance Min Due Credit Limit Reward Balance etc The current website has this info BUT only on the main page and when viewing current transactions. When I am viewing the transaction's history and trying to balance my account. I have to leave the main page. So now the info is no longer available to see? On the old website, you could always see the info on the left side (esp the current balance). With the new site, I CAN'T because when you view more transactions, it takes you to another page. So let's say you forgot what the Current Balance was? You have to leave the page that you are on and go back to the main page. But when doing so, you lose your spot and have to start all over again. There is plenty of room on the top of the page in the blue shaded area. Why can't this info always be seen in the blue shaded area (Current Balance, Min Due, Credit Limit, Reward Balance etc) when viewing any transaction history from any month? It would help a lot because all you have to do is scroll up? Please, the website needs this for forgetful customers like myself. When I wrote into Duo, they did respond that they would bring it up in one of their meetings. But that is not enough when changes don't happen? Having this information is not going to ruin the look of the site either. Or and I know this won't matter bc I am just one customer. Is to eventually stop using this card and cancel and not deal with the frustration of the website anymore.

Someone has opened a duobank walmart master card under my name and has sent my credit score down the drain. I have contacted their customer service and after waiting nearly an hour i was then transfered and had to wait and extra 10 mins. That was not all, this was actually my second time calling because they still have not closed the card opened under my name. They have zero security measures in place and let fraudsters take advantage if this. The representative on the phone was very unprofessional and was super hesitant to disclose her name or let me speak with management. She eventually said her name was “jean” but it sounded like she made that up so i would stop asking her. Apparently someone used a phone number and email different from mine to open up the account but the information could not be shared with me to be reported to the police. Anyways after all that again my account is still active as if nothing has been done. This bank needs to be shut down for its shady business practices and lack of accountability.
