About Dr. Greg Barnett / Group Calgary Orthodontics NW
Dr. Greg Barnett was born and raised in the small city of Orillia, Ontario, in “cottage country” about 2 hours north of Toronto. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University in 1998, and from there went on to complete dental school at the University of Toronto, graduating in 2002. This was then followed by a couple of years working in Midland, Ontario as an Associate in a family-based general dental practice.
In 2004 he was accepted to the University of Alberta’s Graduate Orthodontics program, where he completed a Masters thesis and his 3 years of Orthodontic Specialty training. It was during this time in Alberta that Dr. Barnett and his wife Megan (who is a general dentist and hails from Victoria, B.C.) decided that this was the place for them.
Dr. Barnett enjoys skiing, trail running, hiking and cheering on the Flames (but retains a soft spot for the Toronto Maple Leafs as well). He and his wife have their hands full at home with their two children and labrador retrievers Kiwi and Charlie. Much to his wife's chagrin, his daughter now also has a pet corn snake, Piper.
Dr. Barnett is a Registered Specialist in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He is a member of the Alberta Dental Association & College.

Greg is a fantastic orthodontist (as I can attest to from being his 'big brother' while we were taking our 3 year masters degree)! Greg's understanding of the nuance and science of different orthodontic problems, and the appropriate solutions, was superb. Just as important was his personality; he is approachable, caring, and friendly. You are greeted by warm and friendly staff who take the time to make you feel welcome and continue the small town atmosphere. Dr Barnett is is very thorough and makes you feel very at ease. His staff are amazing at tweaking the wire adjustments and always have tips and tricks keep you the most comfortable. Highly recommend!

Dr. Barnett has many great qualities, among them is his ability to provide his honest opinion regarding the treatment plan needed and his ability to outline the timeline that it will take. As well, he is always patient and able to answer any questions and concerns a parent may have along the way. He is great with young children, making them feel comfortable and putting them at ease. Dr. Barnett is professional, has a vast source of knowledge, and is able to provide treatment in a compassionate manner. The staff that supports Dr. Barnett's practice are all efficient and friendly. Our braces experience has been terrific!

I had consultations with a few people when I considered braces as an adult and what made me go with Dr Barnett was his professionalism and his compassionate personality. I knew that he'd be great with the kids and I was so glad to find him as I don't think I'd have survived 4 years in braces with anyone else. You will get the best possible outcome as Dr Barnett is a perfectionist. The ladies who have taken care of me at this office are all lovely too! Go there - you will be glad you did!
