O my goodness ! I had the most awful experience with Dr Ding Dong he was rude and very incompetent. Time to hang up your rubber gloves ! O that's right ! You don't wear any ! I couldn't agree with the above 2 comments any more ! Spare yourselves..took me 8mths to get in to see this idiot ! & a day off work.

I had a horrible experience. Dr. Dong supposedly sprayed my throat to help the tube and small camera go down my nose into my throat and into my stomach. Something that added to the pain of this was that I was ordered to not used acid reflux medication for a week and consequently my whole throat and part of my esophagus was sore and red raw. Dong had no plastic gloves on while handling this long tube. Then moments before trying to insert the tube down my nose and into my stomach he put on a wrinkled, crinkled dirty looking pair of plastic gloves that looked like they had been used a number of times and thrown away in the garbage but retrieved for my application. He tried shoving the tube down but it hurt so much I couldn't take the pain and started to cough and gag it up. He was not in the least consoling. He tried twice. Then indicated it was pretty well my fault he couldn't perform his procedure. Although this man's office was on the 20th floor which would indicate high income business, the mess of his office and the dirty look of the man himself made me feel that I was in some dirty back alley attempting to get an illegal abortion. Not that I ever had an abortion. The doctor, if he was a doctor, was dressed in a dirty grey loose pullover, rumpled khaki pants. I didn't trust the look of him from the start. He gave me the willies. Dr. Dong's office is small and stacked with papers 3 ft high all over his desk except for a space he can squeeze in. Papers 3 ft high also cover his floor plus other material I couldn't recognize. There was only just a small little space for him to get behind his desk and for me to sit in front of the desk while he took my particulars down on paper. I would say that all the papers this man has regarding his patients are scattered this way. I asked him how could he find anything. I would expect my details would be thrown in that mess and couldn't be retrieved at a later date. It cost me about $275 to drive from Vernon BC to Vancouver and stay overnight. I am a senior on a minimum income and this expenditure hurt especially when the procedure amounted to failure. This man and his practice is a disgrace. I would guard against anyone allowing him to perform any procedure on them.

I saw Dr. Dong two days in a row. Very Pleasant Dr. . He informed me of everything he was about to do which I really appreciate! He is very quiet but very professional. His staff was very pleasant also. I have absolutely no complaints about this doctor.

After reading the reviews, I was a bit concerned about my upcoming visit! So I prepared for the worst, and was pleasantly surprised! Sure he is quieter , and not very engaging...but the world is full of many different "flavors" of people! He knew what he was doing, and asked me many questions and seemed to listen. He was careful to explain what he'd be doing and was gentle with the procedure, which wasn't too difficult for me. And I slept perfectly fine with the tube down inside and the recorder around my waist. But I WAS really ready to have it removed by the next days appointment!! I guess it just irritates the throat or whatever....with all the swallowing we naturally do... and it felt a bit raw for about 2-3 hours afterwards. Then all was fine! By the way...I'd almost willingly go back....just for another view-from the top (20th) floor!! Amazing!

We also found Dr Dung bedside manners horrible! Not professional at All! Never explained exam where a person could understand. He was very short no manners at all. The desk was like he was moving papers books all over! Gifts from Christmas gifts all over the floor. Not inpressed at all. Very disappointed would not recommend!! Rated Zero. Secretory very nice polite. Front seating area was good. Staff very nice polite helpful.but Dr Dung zero never would look at you and when he did was not nice like he would look at you like I was a nothing. Never in all my experience with Doctors or Specialist was I We where treated like this!!!!! One wasted long trip and medical payments. I hope his reported to become a better Dr!!!!!!!

Sure do a review here being " no stranger to danger'' I have the dreaded hiatus hernia and went in yesterday for day one of the two day '' Esophageal Manometry and 24-hour ph monitoring tests'' First off there is a receptionist and a cramped little 5-6 chair waiting room. Dr. Dong ( An Asian man probably in his early 60's ) comes in about 20 minutes late and calls me into a small back room with a desk for him and a chair for me. my first impression is Dong is very robot-like in his nature showing no emotion or personality what so ever. his list of questions was read off like I was being interviewed by a computerized program, but whatever I'm here to successfully conclude an endeavour regardless of the Doc.'s demeanour. from here we went into the bigger procedure room, where I was met with a lady at a computerized terminal. and my seat beside her. The lady was quite nice and did exhibit a rather pleasant and caring personality as well as being very competent in doing her part in the procedure. Dr. Dong continued to be emotionless and not saying anything but commands which was a bit weird but staying focused... The whole procedure went off without a hitch... It felt uncomfortable at times but painless so easily tolerable. My leaving impression was if I rate this on quality of professionalism and competency I guess it was first class. Bottom line; They got this done quick, efficient ...and painless now it is the following day and I go back in 3 hours to get the ''24-hour monitor'' taken out ... and get back on the Dexilant

After seeing the reviews posted here I was very skeptical about my visit to Dr Dong. I will admit that he is not the most "smiley" of doctors but he was very professional. He explained clearly what was going to happen before he did anything, he asked me before he started if I had any questions. Then during the procedure he was telling me what he was doing during each step. I felt very comfortable. I went back the following day to have the measuring device removed and Dr Dong went through the results with me. I did have to ask a few questions to understand clearly but I didn't feel rushed and I felt he answered my questions. The reception staff were all very friendly.

I was apprehensive coming here after reading some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff is nice, the office is clean and Dr. Dong is very professional. I had two tests done including the 24hr test and although these tests are unpleasant and uncomfortable he made them as bearable as possible and explained the entire process. Basing my review on medical expertise and professionalism; as I should, it’s a 5 star practice in my opinion.
