I am visit one of my patients there. I generally can't stand nursing homes, but it seams they trying to serve their people as best as they can.

Our mother passed away after about 15 years at Cummer Lodge. The staff took very good care of her, and were patient and caring.

Went to visit someone. Always clean. He was not in his room but nurse told us he was in the lobby and we went back and saw him there

Highly Recommend DO NOT Leave your parents there, I leave my Mother there for short term respite care and my mother is Diabetes. My mother Blood was extremely high and risking Diabetes Coma the Glucose reading was 27.5 and 29, one the reading was so high the meter mentioned "HI" very few times was with in reason. Under my care even when mother was sick her blood sugar never reach that high. Before leave for my trip i brought my mother blood sugar reading from home and explain to them how much insulin to give my mother base on past reference from the reading they received. They made me believe that they understood and the information was going to past on the taking turn looking after my mother diabetes care and i there with a false sense of comfort, while i was on the Bus approaching the US Broader i got call from one of the nurse saying she was confuse, i was so scared knowing i can not return back immediately and take my Mother out of there feelng i made a regrettable mistake to my mother safety. When I finally returned from my Trip i was really hoping i heard wrong over the phone, but there my mother blood sugar reading in black and white. The nurse was not able to tell me what she had eat that cause my mother blood sugar so high, and i can not ask my mother because she has dementia. The nurse told me even though my mother has dementia which impaired her judgement, whatever my mother ask they would give it to her. Also my Mother had a large Bruise on side of her Thigh and back and i had to get a special medical cream from our family, I can not tell you where and where not to leave your parents, but all i can say is if you choose this nursing home leave at your own risk

My mom was dying and they didn’t tell us. They just said β€˜you can come and see her’ she was only in the facility for 6 weeks. I feel they completely dropped the ball with her care and now she’s gone. She was 65.

Bless this nursing home and the kind-hearted people who work here. My grand-father passed away last Friday and was a resident at this home. He spent the last month of his life locked away and secluded, restrained to a hospital bed wasting away. Due to Covid the hospital would not release him back to the nursing home. To the people who run this home - you will never know me personally and I will never know you. But I will never forget you advocating to get my Poppy back into his home, your home, to pass away in peace without restraints. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for accepting him back into the home, 7 hours before his passing, so the family could be with him and see him one last time. We could never thank you enough. ??❀️R.S.

My mother worked here as a dietary supervisor for more than 25 years so when she needed LTC we thought this place would be a great fit. WRONG! The treatment and care she received here was awful She was in room 268 and she was not treated with respect or compassion. She spent most of her shot stay here in her room because she did not want to be plunked in front of a tv in the lounge with 20 others and left there until the staff wanted to take her back to her room. She was put to bed sometimes at 5 pm. So sad because my mother loved working at Cummer as did most of our family. It was a great place at one time where people cared about the residents. Sadly my mother Joan Arbuckle passed away yesterday at sunny brook if you are looking to place a loved one here please know it’s not a great place anymore

My grandfather was admitted to Cummer lodge. The staff is super friendly. Everyone is smiling and the nurses are very busy and always attending to the residents. It's really nice to see. It's a huge difference from the care you receive at the hospital. They are very hardworking. The food looked like it was prepared by a trained chef. You can tell that they really enjoy their job and genuinely care for the seniors well being. They have alot of different activities on floor three. It ranges from bingo to towel folding. (Dementia ward). The woman who runs the programs is so upbeat and tries very hard to accommodate everyone . I'm very happy that my grandfather is here. I wouldn't hesitate sending family to this nursing home. Keep up the good work. !
