Nurses failed to obey doctor's orders and carry out a medical plan for my father, and their negligence was a contributing factor to my father's death. They did not follow orders listed on his chart by a doctor. We were sent an impersonal condolence card after his passing. Another instance of a smaller scale example of the neglect: My father sat in soiled clothes all morning before my mother and I arrived to change him. Nurses on every occasion we visited were on their phones and on one occasion didn't notice a resident on the lock-down floor entering the elevator to leave the building. Actions have been taken since then to ensure better care at this home and the police were notified of their misconduct which was confirmed by home inspectors. My mother's review stating Cedarvale Terrace's neglect seems to have been removed. This instance is only one piece of the puzzle in a very large, overcrowded and understaffed system but this should not have happened. Human needs and rights should not be disregarded or dismissed under any circumstances anywhere, let alone in a care facility that claims to strive for excellence in care. This was my experience with Cedarvale Terrace.

Everyone, management & staff, have been awesome from day one. We are so thankful for the care and support my mother has received, and for keeping her and all of the residents safe during these difficult times.
