A bit hard to find the entrance to the hike, but after parking, walk towards the very South end of cox bay beach. The mouth of a small stream is the entrance to the hike. See attached photo of entrance / map.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Short hike to get stunning views! It’s a little muddy and steep but not overly difficult. It takes approximately 20min to get up there from the beach. The walk to the beach is about 10-15min.
There are 3 different view points at the top. All close to each other. The highest ones gives you 360’ view.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Viewpoint is 13/10, absolutely breathtaking. But the "trail" up is absolutely horrendous. We are experienced hikers, so let this be a warning to anyone who is not.
Do not attempt if you are not an experienced hiker/climber, and this is absolutely NOT for dogs or children. The trail has it all- deep mud holes, rocky and muddy root scrambles in no-fall zones, thick brush, plenty of things waiting to trip you, and a smaller section with a slab of rock to climb near the top. There are many paths to choose from here and it may feel exceptionally enticing to try a different way down than you came up (couldn't be worse than the route you took up, right??) but I strongly encourage taking the same route down since at least you know what to expect. We tried a different route down, and it had a 15ft vertical wall of roots and rocks near the bottom. It was fun but definitely butt puckering. This trail is for experienced thrill seekers, so if that is you have fun!!

Beware of mud. Wear something you don't care about over some waterproof boots. Can clean them in the ocean after!
Hike itself requires a bit of scrambling but not bad at all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A really nice hike. Not too hard, some steep sections. About 12 minutes up and 20 down. Take some shoes that can get muddy lol. Lovely views ✌?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not worth it. Very muddy, the path was not clear and pretty scary trying to get down. On a nice day, the view might be brilliant. But in any kind of cloud or rain, I would stick with formal trails.

However, this is not official trail so it doesn’t maintain well. Not recommended for elderly and children. Prepared for super muddy path. Need hiking boots and pants to change after hiking. But it definitely worth to try.
The best scenery in Tofino during my trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a muddy hike up! But so worth it. We were watching the Surf competition from the beach, but the lookout views were 100X better. We kind of felt like mountain goats getting up, but it’s a quick 12 minute hike up followed by an hour of soaking in the views. Take your time going down, it can be slippery. Definitely recommend wearing hiking boots or shoes you don’t mind getting ankle-deep in mud.
