Some people come to see a counsellor to develop strategies for managing and reducing specific issues in their life or talking through a particular concern. Addressing these types of matters can be short-term (from a one-off session to a handful of sessions) to medium-term (3 months) — this might also involve checking in less frequently over the longer term to help with setbacks or prevent relapse.
Other people come to therapy to understand long-standing patterns (such as relationship issues) that stem from experiences during their childhood, or to receive ongoing support. This type of work tends to happen over an extended period of time.

CEASE refers women seeking to heal from childhood experiences of abuse and neglect, and violence and degradation while in the sex trade. For Indigenous women, this is compounded by intergenerational trauma from the impact of colonisation, residential schools and ongoing racism.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner was booked in for an appointment this morning at 8:15 and NO ONE showed up. I think it's completely irresponsible to be running a counselling organisation, where you KNOW an individual is struggling... and you no show them. Not impressed. Do not recommend.

Makes it affordable for myself.
My counselor is so easy to talk to, shes so compassionate and kind. The atmosphere here is very peaceful and easygoing.
My counselor really makes me feel as if she understands me so well.
A d I love that while I'm waiting if another counselor walks by they say hello and see if I'm doing alright.
The only thing I dont like so much is that they only take cash so I have to pull out mo ey every time. I wish they took debit,credit or etransfer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unprofessional service from John Walker. Booked an appointment over a month ago, showed up to find his office elsewhere down the hall but also where he was in another appointment. After leaving a voicemail for a callback and an email, I only got an email back that the reason was he forgot to write it in his daytimer. Although, he said he preferred email as the easy record of communication. He offered to reschedule for this week but I value my time enough and will not cater to the service he provides.
This review is in no reflection of Dr. Sherry Bilida, she has provided excellent service and caring help. I was referred to John as my work benefits could no longer cover me for her directly. Google only allows one review per business. For her, I would leave 5 stars.

He has helped me through issues of childhood trauma and I appreciate his expertise and point of view. I would highly recommend his counselling to anyone seeking help for issues within his area of expertise.
