Evolve Strength Downtown - Edmonton

Really enjoy this gym! Everyone is so nice and there are SO many squat racks that you won't have trouble getting one.

I've been attending Evolve DT for about a month and I'm really delighted with the location, amenities, equipment (quality, availability, variety), staff (super friendly, helpful, and professional), and the cleanliness of the gym and change rooms. I also want to give a special thanks to Shay (I hope I've spelled her name correctly!) who is always cheerful and helpful. She spent several minutes with me showing me how to adjust a piece of equipment and use it correctly and safely.

Nice big facility, they keep it clean. One of the best places to work out for people training powerlifting and strongman. Tons of racks, platforms Eleiko plates, and a huge turf surface. Some of the best trainers in the city are here, and the staff are amazing. Evolve houses a physio clinic and a BJJ studio, so it does get crowded at times. The one downside is they don't have a ton of machines. If you bodybuild and you like the plate loaded machines, you will be disappointed.

Booked a massage with one of there therapist got a confirmation email saying he accepted the appointment. When I get there I wait for 20 minutes,he finally comes to talk to me tells me.because I booked online some times it double books . They had me down for 330 but did not send me an email or phone me to inform me of this. So I drove 20 min for nothing . They did not even apologize.

I enjoyed working out here during the periods when gyms were open during the pandemic, and they were always serious in keeping the gym COVID safe when it was open. I have always liked to go into gyms where I can do my thing in peace and quiet, and I have found that the culture here is friendly, courteous, and professional, and serious for bettering one's fitness and wellness at all stages of one's journey. I recommend this gym if you don't like gym-bro or meatheads, as they do not seem to frequent here, at least in the mornings when I worked out. The staff have always been friendly, diligent, and great communicators when I signed up initially, and when I had to cancel my membership due to my moving to Vancouver. I can only hope to find a gym as nice as this one in Vancouver!

Amazing facility. This place is standardized with equipment brands like eleiko, precor, and rogue. Lots of space and equipment to choose from, and it seems like they're constantly adding. Just got some stones and a couple smaller tires recently. No contract and very affordable rates as well. Only issue is parking, which could be hard to find at peak times.

Staff is just awesome here and the atmosphere not intimidating at all. Elieko top of the line equipment and trainers who walk the talk. Awesome gym.

I left a review for another establishment located in this building so it is only fair to do one for this business too. I started off having a good experience with Evolve; the staff was very friendly. Katie and Jacqui were awesome assets to this company! These two stars are for them. New staff members joined the crew and the level of customer service went downhill; some not all of the staff are quite rude and it is obvious there are cliques among staff and clients. They like to make it obvious and if you (like I) was not a part of these cliques then you are made to feel very unwelcome. I tried to get in contact with the owner, Johnny and I never had any follow -up whether the message got lost or simply the owner does not care I do not know, therefore I cannot comment on this. While the owner of the building does not have full control over the other establishments and how they act, he should think about monitoring their behavior more. The way staff members of other businesses act within Evolve reflects badly on them all. And seeing as I was told in a very patronizing way by the other company that you "cannot find my file". My Google account uses my maiden name and my first name is Natalie. The response by that other company located in this building was substandard at best. However, by their staff members' attitudes, it did not surprise me as the tone comes from the top. PS It does not look good for any company when they receive a negative review and then they tell a friend, family member, or a client and have them write a positive review, which tries to counteract some of the feedback given in the negative review. In fact, it is extremely immature which supports my point about some staff members acting like they are still in high school. It is pretty obvious and people are going to be able to see right through that if they choose to look at reviews before choosing a gym. I hope you all try to learn from this and do better next time.
